Can these fakers please be bound in chains and dropped off, mid Atlantic, to swim home?

Laura Kate has said BOTW will be out for launch in NA. Heard nothing about EU though. If they got it before us, I would flip this table over. She also said Mother 3 will be released on Switch VC.

Was it not her only a little while back that said that botw is gonna be a summer 17 game? I could be wrong tho.

It was her or Emily Rogers. Wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo were trying to smoke out the leakers either.

Who is staying up for the 4am event?

Is there anywhere taking pre-orders on the Switch yet?

Gamestop is, but it seems there's gonna be more than one SKU at launch, so its best to wait.

Smyths are taking them as well.

Regarding the multiple SKUs with Smyths for the PS4 you were able to preorder and then when the different bundles were revealed (Killzone plus controller or regular as an example) you were able to go in and choose which one you wanted. Hopefully with this it would be the same.

Robbing the rumours roundup from Neogaf for the day

    Laura Kate Dale (LetsPlayVideoGames):

Contrary to my past report on BOTW release date it is 100% coming at Switch launch in North America in March. Have seen finalised materials.

    https://twitter.com/LaurakBuzz/statu...53975954604034

Mother 3 VC Switch Q2 2017. Will be announced Jan 12 event.

    https://twitter.com/LaurakBuzz/statu...67520851116034

I'm still the only person talking about Rabbids Mario RPG, with Grant Kirkhope composing, something impossible to pull out my arse.

    https://twitter.com/LaurakBuzz/statu...64572486172673

Liam Robertson (YouTuber, Did You Know Gaming, Unseen64, Nintendo Life contributor):

I will now step back from speculating on the Zelda situation. Sounds like it could go either way now. An internal battle at Nintendo.

    https://twitter.com/Doctor_Cupcakes/...11620849369088

Much more interested in whether or not they'll announce Metroid in January or wait for E3 than anything else at this point.

    https://twitter.com/Doctor_Cupcakes/...61492726157312

    Ryan Brown (Daily Mirror) :

£299.99 - £350 for a 'premium' Switch bundle is my expectations. Was hoping for £250 tops, but seems unlikely.

    https://twitter.com/Toadsanime/statu...82073022443521

    Emily Rogers (Freelance Journalist?):

You get some rumors right, some wrong.
I expect to be right on Mother 3, Mario Kart.
I expect to be wrong on Zelda. It's coming March in NA
    https://twitter.com/ArcadeGirl64/sta...88525430702080

    @NWPlayer123
    Load of garbage.
Mother 3 was localized months ago.
Rockstar had Wii U dev kits.
I was 1st person to report Paper Mario U.
    https://twitter.com/ArcadeGirl64/sta...43138896818176

    OBE1 (Youtuber):

There will be Voice Chat for Nintendo Switch.

Doctor Cupcakes is not a reliable source, Laura Kate and Emily Rogers are relatively reliable.

What is it now, 10 days until we see the Switch in action, hopefully it'll be in demo kiosks soon too!

It will be great to know what type of bundles will be available. After all my looking I never picked up a Wii U, so will be getting the Switch as soon as I can.

Just have to keep distracted until the 13th and then go into cryo sleep until March.

Are Smyths only taking them in store? I don't see anything on their web site.

Also is it likely to be region blocked?

    Rumours say it isn't.

The wonderful thing is, no sooner than we get our first really good look at the Switch, than it'll be only about 9 weeks before it's released.
I'd say, post the 13th of January, we'll be inundated with media releases from Nintendo, 1st and 3rd party games, previews from online and print media, it'll hopefully be kind of a big deal then, come St Patrick's day.

Remember this time last year the wait was on for more information after they said in 2015 that they would talk about it more in 2016

They did talk about it, a little bit, in 2016...
Plus, Karen went socialising with hers... damn you Karen, leave it at home!

Just to refresh our memories of what we are, mostly, all waiting for....

    Zelda surely launch title so?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,811 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

    Almost certainly.
It'll be a carbon copy of the twinned releases of Twilight Princess on both Gamecube and Wii.
The Wii edition can be had for a tenner while the GC edition is €50 or 60 or more!
So, the WiiU version is probably going to be a nice purchase, particularly if there are WiiU specific features in there.

Also Argos had the console up for £300 pre order. Which is high, but argos is known for overpricing things, specially in the UK.
We should probably expect to hear something about the presentation this week, given its only a week and the working week has only just started pretty much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,390 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Not sure if I want to read anything before the presentation. Will be avoiding spoilers all day afterwards until I get home. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Also also, Nintendo Of Europe has started emailing people if they won those competions to go to the Switch events next week or whenever it is.

The switch excitement is really starting to kick in for me with all this news :)

New hardware launches are always exciting times, especially from the big manufacturers, this time is something different, Nintendo have maintained a relatively low-key run up to the Switches release, whereas we had months of reveals, previews and media spots with nearly every hardware launch that has gone before, be it Nintendo, Sony, Sega or MS.
Time will tell if Ninty have made the right call this time.

That makes me wonder why ninty were so quiet about it, the ps4 pro and the new x box were announced at e3 last year, could it be down to the specs or some hidden feature of the switch they have still to show us in the 13ths direct, im hoping its some sort of pleasent surprise either way.

I'm still banking on a Metroid reveal, and a hidden cheesecake producing feature....

    More rumours.

    http://nintendoeverything.com/rumor-beyond-good-evil-2-switch-exclusive-for-first-12-months-rayman-legends-q2-mariorabbids-rpg-name/

Beyond Good and Evil 2 being a 12 month exclusive on Switch would be a big deal for Nintendo.

It'd be great, but it'd generate so much entitled backlash, like Bayonetta 2 did.
