    And excellent redundancy packages at that. My point is, that even in the grocery sector, Tesco staff are not the staff you want to use as being poorly paid for comparison purposes. They're doing OK.

    Is there a point to be made to some people are in low paid jobs for a reason. Or they are paid a low wage for a reason.

    Tell that to the hundreds of Tesco staff who have to rely on welfare supports.

    First you contend that Tesco employees are handsomely paid because of the old contracts. Then when you discover that contract was torn up by the employer, you're apparently defending a unilateral change in the terms of a contract (which we're always told is an anathema to commercial activity here in the First World) by saying these workers could have taken redundancy?

    Poorly paid workers are ****ed in this country as long as that kind of attitude pervades. I'm alright Jack.

    I know its not the situation in all cases, but in reality in your teenage years and early 20's YOU have the ability to decide what your earnings will be as you grow older.
