You could but in fairness Charlies not a celebrity so id imagine youd have a hard time gettinvg 500 in a month.

As some of you may know i had to follow it so i could dm. Kinda sad the worst is immediately assumed, then accepted as a given. Bizarre you would think dollery following it, who i dont think has even met Charlie, would somehow lend weight to the assumed fact Charlie has any control over it.
Guys, just try a small bit of critical thinking before jumping to utmost offence.

People online love to be outraged. People online are going to look for a reason to complain no matter what.

See your point John, but alot of UFC fighters and regional fighters don't have verified accounts so its quite easy to be fooled. Best of luck to Charlie with the camp.

Obviously it would descend into chaos pretty quickly if it was unfettered but I'm sure the mods wouldn't mind vetting and/or pre-screening questions if you were willing to do it.

makes sense, thanks Mellor. bit of a silly set up , onnfacebook you can message anyone and it seems to me that followed by people makes it look like they are the real deal.

Yeah it's a bit different on Twitter. I suppose because Twitter pages are a bit more public, that they add that as some sort of control over who can contact you.

The reasoning for why people thought, or think even though there's no blue tick, that this was actually an official account is also pretty logical.

That's what I was going by, I knew the kav acc was real but I didn't know about the ticks

So to stop fake accounts when a famous person gets a twitter and prove its them Twitter will give them a blue tick beside their name which means their verified and not fake.

I thought it could have been Charlie because some UFC Fighters and Regional fighters might not have the ticks but usually they do. Even most MMA reporters will have them. If you go to twitter you'll see it bud.

Thanks for clarifying John.

I didn't post anything about it but my first reaction was certainly one of shock.

I'm sure you can see how most people would assume that it was Charlie's account.

Not sure what can be done about it? I'm sure twitter themselves don't give 2 hoots about someone being impersonated.

It makes sense for people to assume that initially sure.
But I was talking about then John specifically said it wasn't Charlie. That he followed them so he could DM it and try to sort it out.

As I suspected it wasn't Charlie behind the account he has never come across as somebody interesting in using social media (probably to his detriment career wise) but hes signed to the big league now thanks partly to Conor,I assume he will have a manager to capitalize on it and try get his name out there and make some money.

I really do hope the rag media dont pursue him because ''he killed a man'' in the cage it could've happened anyone anytime anyplace.

He's already said he followed it in order to contact the person who owns the account. That's how Twitter works. You can't send dm's until you follow them.
