Reading McGees article just makes me think he's a sad bast"!rd. Obviously had zero life outside an amateur sport if he was driven to do that on his downtime.
    Weirdo

My exact taughts also, the guy seems to be quite a strange idiot. Sad as you can get!

Anyway on today's game, I feel the obvious possession retaining, contained and patient approach we've been implementing this year is a direct product of the much analysed 2014 semi-final ambush/collapse to Donegal. No signs of the all out gung-ho running attacking nature of 2013/14. It's now all done in a very specific opportunic spurt created from a primary based possession first game.

Like most, I feel both camps had their eye on this fixture since last October and preperations for one another have been in production since then. I find it interseting how Dublin are preceived to not be operating at the levels they were the same time last year. Tomás O'Sé claimed as much a couple of weeks ago on The Sunday Game, and I was intrigued to hear his basis behind this assessment which he never followed up on. It got me thinking, what does he not see happening in the Dublin approach that was there last year? And particularly, what absent element presents itself as a weakness on our set up from 12 months previous?

The absence of O'Carroll and McCaffrey are obvious, and we take that as a given, no matter how strong and resourced a squad is, players of that stature will certainly be a minus in artillery. But up to now I personally think Cooper, Small, Byrne and to a smaller (appearance wise) extent, Lowndes, have sufficiently accommodated this area. Of course, it's only a legitimate weakness when it's exposed and today is a certain danger of exposure, particularly if Donaghy moves to the square, (I expect him to head there right after he contests the initial throw in).

Coming back to my points above, I think Dublin's possession based game is geared towards giving Kerry legs a sustained run around, through diagonal and lateral passing, waiting for openings particularly with Connolly, Brogan, Kilkenny and Flynn coming deep for possession, creating fatigue and disorganising the Kerry back third and hitting them in spurts of the 2013 gung-ho style of score getting while remaining conciously intact at the back anticipating any fast hitting counter upon any possession turn overs.

I expect today not to give us a 2013 end to end classic, more a game of attrition with a very cagey opening 20 minutes. Overall, I am confident a well organised plan of action is brewing nicely to peak at the right time. Dublin by 6!

tbh it all depends on who's actually fit.

I'm not sure we'll have a full squad. We thught mcCarthy was starting at this time against donegal too..

True Bambi, but McCarthy has had a further 3 weeks minding on that injury without the impact of playing any part in the Donegal game. Plus, there will be a definite plan B in the event of him struggling today.

Don't know how dub fans get enjoyment from this,I guess fools will latch onto to anything to feel like a winner. Reminds me of Brits during the Olympics going mental over winning gold in some tiddlywink sport because the fired £4 million at someone. Tipp getting to AI semi far more meaningful.
Fling joke, get their own 12 million euro "national" training centre built for them.GAA more interested in the money they can make from a successful dub team then fair and healthy competition I guess

    Congrats lads.

    Ballsy comeback from your boys.

Gavin fixed all the holes from the end of the first half and kicked on well in the second.

    Great quality off the bench.

They are all tough to take but this one is raw and it stings.

Might of divine and all that is holy. I just can't take these Dublin Kerry matches anymore.

The joy at full time was something else.

Tayto Park cam feck off if they think they provide the biggest roller-coaster in Ireland. That match had more ups, downs and excitement!

Delighted to see wee Philly dominating Donaghy again until he asked to be taken off before he was sent off. Go gently into the night sweet prince.

It'll be at least Wednesday before I'm right after that game.

Great composure in that second half, especially after Cluxtons complete meltdown just before halftime.

Nearly fell into the seats in front of us when KMc folded Crowley with that shoulder at the end. What a game he had.

Blown away by the character of that Dublin team. Kerry lost nothing in defeat but the talk of hunger in the build up is hollow now. They were fought to a standstill. Again.

McMahon, Cooper (again), Kev Mc and Fenton were unbelievable when it mattered most. I'd give MOTM to Philly McMahon though.

Reading the reports some Kerry supporters lost the rag with the ref as he was walking off. Thought he had a great game myself. Thats two high pressure games (Mayo/Tyrone) he's been excellent in for me. Hope he gets the final.

If we threw the bottles you wouldn't hear the end if it. Was disgraceful.
