    I checked on Lyngsat, but I can't seem to find the BBC One "CB" when I add any of those frequencies.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,077 ✭✭✭parasite

    I cannot find BBC ONE CB either! And all the regions I have stored give me 08 message using a Scots card.

    The picture quality on BBC ONE CB is excellent compared to BBC1 NI, absolutely no pixelation or artefacts. Never seen it so good on BBC1.

    Yep BBC ONE CB is viewable on 10847 V 22000 FEC 5/6.

    This was originally where the BBCi stuff was located, so it still carries the "This Is BBC Interactive" banner. This may also explain why we can see it and BBC ONE CI (which is only broadcasting a black screen).

    By the way Damo, should this be merged with the FTA tests thread ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,726 ✭✭✭✭DMC

    It is now... I was waiting to see if the thread had legs before deciding what to do with it. Its up, running and merged. :D

    Ok, tuned in BBC One CB earlier this afternoon through other channels.

    I get an "01 - Please insert your card" message without a card and "07 - This is the wrong card for this STB" with an unmarried expired uk sub card.

    I guess I'll have to wait untill July 10 then!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,803 ✭✭✭Charles Slane

    I presume we can see it on an Irish sub because it used to be where BBCi was and we can see BBCi's services (except for the odd time when they block something for no apparent reason - like Wimbledon).

    I've also read that they'll be going completely FTA from the 14th July (instead of the 10th, as previously reported), although this remains to be seen.

    I didn't see Look East at 6.30 last night, but I caught it at 10.25 and at Breakfast this morning.

    The one last night was definately the western half of the East Region going by the weather map, but I'm not sure whether this morning's was, or whether it covered the whole East region.

    The weather graphic didn't show a map, so I'm not sure but I think the studio looked slightly different.

    excuse ignorance but what is bbc cb

    thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,417 ✭✭✭✭watty

    Might be CamBridge

    BBC use load of two letter abbrieviations for studio/centres. I knew some of them a long time ago.

    Only some work like Irish Car Number Plates:
    LN = London

    But
    OX = Oxford

    there is Wexford which uses WX. Waterford County has WD so OX = Oxford can be said to be like the Irish Car Number Plates

    Bit un PC of the Beeb to call the Channel Islands part of England, as it's not even part of the UK!

    I thought W was for Waterford, I'm sure I've seen W with phortláirge written above it

    Not sure but WD is definitely Waterford Port Lairge unless it's been changed to just W. I have seen cars with W regs.

    Anway, we're veering OT :rolleyes:
