They showed it later. They've a habit of holding back stuff from a game if theyve a plan to specifically talk about it later on. Which doesn't make sense when it's a major scoring chance at the end of a game.

the GAA have the fixtures, and telly arrangements, sorted for next weekend (in a nice format that i can copy and paste with no messing!!)

Interesting that the Galway v Mayo game is on RTE1 and not GAAgo , but its avoiding a world of pain from the Mayo fans for not having Mayo getting knocked out of the championship live on free to air telly, so good to see that one moved !

Ross Munnelly doing sterling work as a Co-commentator in the Roscommon v Cork game. Decent insight and not just the 'he'll be disappointed with that Ger' stuff.

The commentators on the Kildare v Monaghan game obviously not in Tullamore - 'I wonder did it rain at half time, the ball is slippy in the players hands since the break'. Hardly good enough?

No Saturday Game tonight despite 5 high profile games today. Shambles.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,365 ✭✭✭franglan

Was there supposed to be 6 or 7 of them this year? Has there been half that so far?

Terrible scheduling by the GAA yet again.

Why do they insist on having the hurling quarter finals on a Saturday and give the Sunday slots to the Tailteann Cup.

Very few people are interested in the Tailteann Cup.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,347 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

No. They are giving the Tailteann Cup some deserved exposure, prime time Sunday afternoon slots from Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.

If only someone didn't schedule a knock out championship game between 2 of the best teams in the country at the same time on RTE One at the same time 😜.

    Now, THAT'S terrible scheduling...

    Lunacy!

Meath fans not at the games have a choice of viewing. The Meath ladies are on TG4 at the same time as the men are on RTE 2.

The very same can be sai now for Mayo.

Fair play to Lee keegan with what he is wearing - good to see a pundit not dressed up like they are making their confirmation/appearing in court on the Sunday game

Touchline Presenter just asked the MOTM from mayo “ how did you loose that “

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,305 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

It was hard to hear, but I think he said something like "what was the winning and losing of the game"

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Shocking picture quality for the Cork Derry game again today, picture is out of focus, too bright and full of noise.

    No excuse for such crap.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,924 ✭✭✭WesternZulu

Damien Lalor asks the most pointless questions to managers, players, etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,061 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Why does Fitzmaurice keep name checking the commentator in games?

He name checked Marty at least 100 times today.

Why can't RTE show a Saturday Game highlights show when both matches that day were on GAAGo? Surely that was the point of the extra highlights show they had a big announcement about, unless they deliberately try to push people onto the GAAGo platform by denying license fee payers the top games, but oh no they would never do that being motivated solely to serve the people interest!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,374 ✭✭✭celt262

Was there a highlights show last year when the games were on Sky ?

There definitely should have been a show last Saturday and i don't see the point of saying there is going to be a Saturday show and then not bother.

BBC 2 Northern Ireland is showing the two hurling semi finals on Saturday and Sunday. RTE 2 will also have camogie before both of those games.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,396 ✭✭✭Red Silurian

Got an email from GAAGO yesterday claiming they will be showing both of the hurling semi's. Guess I'll be watching the U20s rugby on Sunday in that case

Non-excusive coverage I'd say. The games are on RTE for definite.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,011 ✭✭✭✭Fr Tod Umptious

RTE are showing them, but they are probably available on GAA Go for viewers outside Ireland.

In the Sky days the semi finals and finals were on both RTE and Sky.

Diabolical picture again on RTE for the hurling.

I checked it on 3 tvs in the house to rule it out being my eyesight but it was a crap picture on every one of them and they are bloody good sets. Missus agreed.

BBC 2 was poor too but they are using RTE's cameras.

It must be the cameras RTE are using , they are garbage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,731 ✭✭✭Charlie69

How would a different TV help if your eyesight was the problem 🤣

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

Meant to say the tv setup, my eyesight is fine.

How do all the lads on the panels that get togged out with the free suits fair out with the taxman, most of them on private sponsorship gigs for menswear companies around the country. Canning looked ridiculous this evening, very ill at ease with his 'tin o fruit' at a hurling match ffs.

What was up with the BBC not having access to the Hawkeye feed?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,503 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

Despite MisterAnarchy saying that the BBC were using the RTE cameras, I don't think they were. They were using the satellite feed below, which is one they use when they are doing matches in Ulster, not sharing with RTE. Maybe that is why the Tá, Níl screen did not appear? And there is nothing wrong with the pictures, MisterAnarchy needs to check their equipment or their eyesight.

Watched the game on the bbc iPlayer and the picture was perfect.

Also the commentary was refreshing as it lacked all the usual rte standard catchphrases.

The picture is definitely not good.....definitely an issue this year.
