Yesterday was totally ruined here in NCD with the wind it was relentless even at 6pm.

I was so cold last night I has to put heating on.

    Today was unreal in contrast.

Yep the grass will be cut here tomorrow to prepare for 1st barbecue of the summer😎

Really fantastic day in Kerry, mostly blue sky and good levels of sunshine since early afternoon , clouded over a bit this evening but still grand. Got up to 18.2C and still 13C, looks even warmer tomorrow for Kerry , might get over 19C.

Pic: last bit of sunshine lighting up Ardfert Cathedral at 21.00

Very cloudy and a bit of a breeze. Disappointing. East Cork.

It was lovely and sunny here in Meath till about half an hour ago. Gone all cloudy now so I guess that's the end of the fine weather until sometime in June. The next 2 weeks will be truly forgettable but hopefully there will be signs of things settling down in about a weeks time starting to appear on the models.

Well met eireann were forecasting today to be warm and sunny and all i see is grey cloud and wind so if they aren't getting the forecast right three or four days out then there's hope those coming charts won't work out either!

It was beautiful here in NCD this morning. We were out for a walk and it was so lovely and sunny.

Well it didn't last. Totally overcast here now but we still had our barbecue anyway, we just put on a few more layers.

Has been a beautiful day near Ardagh, Longford. Was mostly clear until about a half hour ago, partly cloudy now. Very warm in the sunshine. A breeze has picked up recently as well however the house has a small wood of very tall old trees to the east so it's almost calm out in the front garden. Hit 22° a short while ago, down to 21° now. Pruning rhododendrons at the moment and have broken a sweat. The hubby has quite a sunburn.....I told him to put on some sunscreen as he burns easily.

Mount Dillon Co. Roscommon recorded the highest air temperature of the year so far today, 20.9C 🌡️

Highdef, no chance of any sunburn here in Dublin.

I made my husband + son plaster on suncream this morning + sure sun disappeared by 12pm + suncream ended up all over the hoodies thry had to put on to keep warm, they were not impressed with me🤭

Glad other parts of country getting a nice day but it's a big fail for Met Eireann for that forecast for Dublin today.

I’d say the nice weather the rest of the country is getting is the exception rather than the rule appledrop. Looking at the live sport around the country it was a very ordinary May weekend.

    it’s very breezy now too.

Was lovely and sunny here in Northern Ireland up until an hour ago. Still 19c and humid, hate it as that's when my headaches start, mam is in spain and she's coming back tomorrow into the rain 😂 still early days for us as june, july,August and 1st half of September is normally nice

Beautiful day in Kerry, bright and sunny until about mid afternoon, bit cloudy in the afternoon and bright and sunny again since early late afternoon / early evening, my sheltered reading was 21.3C but about 20C would be the more realistic temp I would think. Still very mild at 16.2C and looks set to be a mild night.

Any idea's where there may be some clearings between 2.32 and 5.30 am for the eclipse. Every one of the models on windy are different

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,318 ✭✭✭Dazler97

    When is it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,059 ✭✭✭✭spookwoman

starts at 2.32am in the morning at ends at 5.30am

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 12,667 Mod ✭✭✭✭Meteorite58

It would be a brave call to pinpoint a clear location for that time, broken lines of cloud overnight into tomorrow giving rain in places, will there be some break after the first occluded front passes over ??, looking at the charts there might be an easing of rain during those hours in parts of Munster but doesn't guarantee a clearing in cloud . Couldn't call it with any confidence but best of luck I hope you manage to capture it.

Was looking at the uk forecast and might get a break on the south coast. Will be watch like a hawk for that and possible lightning.

I see that, those are storms that originated in Brittany earlier I think and seem to have a more northward momentum than the rain west of them heading into the Southeast here

A few aul flashes and bangs overnight though won't be told to feck off or anything 😂

    clearf.jpg

Looks like some clearance on way for the south coast. Fog and mist obscured everything.

Miserable here in Dublin, let's hope it clears up like it's forecast to.

Real contrast in weather yesterday, we didn't get past 16 degrees at Dublin airport but MT. Dillion got to 21 degrees.

Not too bad of a morning here in Meath, after a damp start the sky is clearing and sun has popped out and starting to feel fairly warm.

However today could turn fairly showery at times and there is a small risk of thunderstorms.

Today is already much nicer than yesterday, certainly warmer by several degrees. The afternoon and evening could turn showery however.
