    I hate the wind.

In particular I really dislike early May as we usually get a run of northwesterlies. They seem a few days late this year. My location is a little more exposed to a NW breeze - moreso than any other direction barring SSE. Following quite a windless winter and spring, this windy spell is notable.

We usually get a run of NW'lies in early May as the continent warms up drawing in cooler air off the north Atlantic, so weather systems (low to our N, high to our far SW) encourages this.

Did I mention I hate the wind?

The continent warms up and Ireland well Ireland stays the same really. 10-16 degrees and showery!

'A wet and windy May fills the barn with corn and hay' was an old saying. May, I suppose like any Irish month, can be windy.

Warming up nicely in Laois now.

It is technically that warm in Dublin, but the wind chill means it only feels like about 12 degrees especially if your in the shade.

The past few evenings I've been noting how well the grain crops are looking in a the fields between here and Casement. Certainly got the first half of their life right, let's hope for good harvesting weather to follow in a couple of months.

After a very dissapointing and chilly morning today has turned out beautiful. Clear unbroken gin blue skies and plenty of strong sunshine and feeling warm despite that nasty breeze, once you are sheltered it is glorious.

The weather will take a turn for the worst from Monday/Tuesday and next week looks bad in terms of rainfall but at least it will be mild with temperatures generally around 18C or slightly higher in eastern areas.

A slight chance things may turn more volatile into the second half of next week with humidity and rainfall mixing with warm temperatures could turn things slightly volatile. Hopefully we will see a big improvement after that and much less in the way of wind, absolutely sick of the wind at this stage.

Yeah I can put up with the wind in Autumn and winter but absolutely hate windy days during the summer.

Gorgeous evening now and feeling warm at last.

Gone cloudy and cooler in South East Laois now. Basically showing the difference between a late Spring day and a Summer one. Grand to work, move or exercise in but not sitting out like 2 hours ago.

No complaints though. Grand for 13th May.

Some of us like the wind, not stormy, for...other reasons 🤭

Late posting but first time in a while that I've seen a fiery sunset sky this evening in Dublin. No doubt the southwesterly winds played their part forming the altocumulus and lenticular clouds over the Wicklow Mountains (one good thing about icky yucky southwesterlies!). There was a nice sun pillar too. Pic taken at Clontarf

A lot of broken cloud around so not as much sun as there could be. Still nice day.

A windless winter and spring.. I don't know. Felt like I've been battered the last few months.

No fog down here, got burned but there was a more noticeable chill in the sea breeze

You'd know it was off fog

Absolutely beautiful day here in NCD.

Now we did still have a bit of breeze this morning but thankfully eased off.

2 beautifull days in a row here, we may get one more tomorrow before the Atlantic is unleashed from Monday with no shortage of rainfall over the coming week. Tomorrow will definitely be a good time to get the lawn cut.
