What a match! Entertaing as fcuk. Both sides played some good rugby.

Lorcan is some player. He's explosive and deceptive with good foot movement. Wilson and Hadden shored up the scrum. And yes! Prendergast was great! Fantastic 👌

Standouts for the year, King, Lorcan. Culhane. Good showings all round. Crothers is a good leader. O'Tighernaigh played well in this one. I thought he fell off from his play at the 6nations.

Well that would make him the great grand son of one Alec Foster (father in law of CCOB) who played 17 times for Ireland either side of the First World War. Three of those matches were as captain.

He also went on the 1910 Lions tour of South Africa (before they were called Lions Tours) playing in two of the three Tests and scoring a try in one.

Suspect that's the side of the family from which young Inigo inherits his talent. :)

Some really good positives from both squads this year. This summer series saw incremental improvement each match. Similar to the 6nations. But, the fact that the quality faced is so good will go a long way. I think if we faced the boks again, it would be closer. The last few years have been mostly positive for us.

Few other irish players involved in 20s squads this summer

Shane Fata, Naas RFC/Newbridge College, currently involved with New England Free Jacks in MLR is in US 20s squad for the Corendon tournament in Amsterdam this week against other international sides from Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic and Canada

Hugh O Kennedy, Lansdowne/Gonzaga- Trinity. also in the US squad.

The US has an u23s squad also playing and more irish involved in that. peter ford, Bray is included in that squad

Georgia v Scotland. That is some statement by Georgian Rugby.

I think we'll murder Scotland. I'd go as far as to play as many u19's as possible!

    So..... any academy intake news?

I take it the pools were intentionally drawn this way to put the stronger teams in one pool and the weaker ones in the other so that teams play other teams of a similar standard?

Which is fair enough but then it seems pointless having the pools play off against each other at the end - even with all the absentees we'd likely beat any of the Pool B teams easily. Wales won all their pool B games but have a poor enough team this year.

And now poor old Scotland's punishment for losing their three group games is a game against a better team than the three that already beat them, which they're sure to get hammered in. Not sure that part of the Tournament structure makes much sense.

I think the Boks will murder Wales! I hope they do. The Boks beat 3 good sides, they are very well drilled.

Correct about them being intentionally drawn that way. I would expect all the teams from Ireland’s pool to win their last matches.

    Prendergast is balling.

Can't wait to see him tearing it up for Leinster 'A' in 2024/25

    Scotland are mince.

That was a crazy try for Ireland to take it to 29 points, kickoff from Ireland straight into the breadbasket of another Ireland player who was in an acre of space who went straight in for the try. Scotland just totally asleep and disorganised, you wouldn't see it at club level U12s.

Not a fantastic couple of minutes from Coomber.

The handling has been very impressive so far

    Score update?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

Mistakes coming through Irish payers being a bit arrogant and not taking Scotland seriously. Bit of glory hog mentality sneaking in.

Dragons 'A' and Doncaster Knights aren't ready

    Sorry 29 - 14

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    29 - 14.

Scotland have really tightened up. Ireland need to stop treating this like a stroll in the park.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

Comedy of errors here for both sides now. Knock ons, poor kicks etc.

    36 - 17

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

    Fantastic maul from Ireland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

Lovely crossfield kick from Prendergast, conversion off the uprights.

    41 - 17

Scotland respond immediately from kick off

    41 - 24

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

all changes mow made - very scrappy.

Scottish players bickering amongst themselves about forming a caterpillar at the back of the ruck.

Ireland try scratched off for a forward pass.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,406 ✭✭✭Paul Smeenus

Scotland knock on form the back of a scrum for the second or third time

All over. 41 - 24. Just mistake after mistake at the end from both teams - forward passes ending quiet a few attacks. Not surprised - looked absolutely roasting, and it's been a long comp.
