People wouldn't skip queues if they were not allowed to.

Cars bombing up the hard shoulder in a traffic jam wouldn't do it if drivers decided to not let them back in.

I had a case a while back where there was a huge tail-back on the N11 due to a vehicle on fire. Traffic almost at a stand-still. After a few cars drove down the hard shoulder, I decided I'd had enough and moved out to be half-way blocking it. The next car down was an Audi and I amused myself watching the driver losing his fooking mind in my rear-view mirror. I normally wouldn't be that kind of pr1ck that feels the need to police others but it was fun seeing other drivers around me laughing at Audi boy!

The old Irish “ah but shur” attitude means loads of idiots end up letting them out, thus enabling their behaviour meaning they’ll keep doing it.

I am not interested in “human decency” and rules that other people deem important. You’re all free to adhere to them if it makes you feel better.

Usually the rules that people deem important are such to facilitate social cohesion and fairness. Most intelligent people realise this is beneficial to all. But then there are those who don't give two Fu(KS about anyone else; play loud music outdoors in built up areas, litter, obstructing others when parking, doing cash in hand jobs etc etc

Like the poor, these people will always be with us...

Pet peeve in lidl, and maybe its just me.
There is, I don't know, 4 tills? Till 1 along the wall matches the last aisle in lidl. Great
Till 2 is exactly between last aisle and second last aisle. So only space for one person to queue, then it spills over to EITHER last aisle or second last aisle. BUT WHICH ONE! Won't someone stop the madness! Have people peeking around corners like meerkats trying to decide if they are in the right queue.
Worse thing is, this can all be fixed easily!!
They only ever have 1-2 tills open.
Open till 1 and 3.... Perfect aisle for queuing, no begrudging the people who scoot in "Oh i didnt see you!".
and if they open an extra till (Oh lord, so exciting!) it will be till 2 or 4 where theres only room for the overflow from the aisles!

    *pants and breathes out*

    ok i am done now....

    A troll or a psychopath.

I adhere to human decency because Im a decent human

    Neither.
But what you define as “human decencies” it’s nothing but a concept someone dreamed up. Same as jaywalking. Up to anyone to adhere to it or not.

    definitely one of the above.

All customs and laws are "made up" by humans. You might as well say that it's "made up" that murder is wrong.

Best of luck with the queue jumping and only meeting polite people. I don't think Ireland is as polite as you think.

Of course it’s all dreamed up concepts, but this thread shows you pretty well how creative people get when it comes to justifying breaking the rules. I just don’t bother justifying it.

Thanks I’ll take my chances. And please don’t try to put invalid labels on people.

Yes, maybe there is hope for me. Great to see how upset people get about queues

I was with you until the last line, I think it works out just as well without the highlighted part.
Queue jumpers will make an excuse to rationalise what they do, I dont think they like being on the receiving end of it themselves, all because, sense of entitlement.

When you’re regarded as an essential worker and apply for a driving test.

Same as having carnal relations with one's sister...if you want to use your logic...
