I actually hope the person wins. Just to see the ultra woke try to square how they support a transgender person breaking down barriers while at the same time bemoaning the patriarchy for preventing a biological woman from winning a gold medal.

Just goes to show though that even in the world of 'equality', gender quotas and 'positive discrimination' - men will still win in the end.

Anyone who deems themselves feminist wouldn't throw under the bus those women who don't think this is fair. But plenty of those self appointed "feminists" do just that.

It’s funny, performance enhancing drugs are banned but this athlete gets all the benefits of puberty, strength/bone density/better recovery etc etc and that for some reason is a level playing field? And there’s no point in arguing that she doesn’t have the testosterone levels now, them benefits don’t disappear. To use the performance enhancing drugs analogy again, one can use them, train like a lunatic, come off, test clean and keep 90% of the benefits.

The best suggestion I saw all day was for a transgender games.

I'm not going to rant because it's of little value, but there's simply no circumstances where entering a person born with male physiology in a competition for people of female physiology can be fair or equitable or in compliance with the Olympic ideal.

The gold medal is far from guaranteed for New Zealand.
