Henry was one of my top 3 picks for this round.

in hindsight, allowing MNG to have him and Mbappe together might have been a slight oversight

but I just think Van Basten suits my team structure slightly better.

the third in my list simply has to go soon.

realistically, there are at least 10 picks that you simply can't quibble with, no matter the order. a lot will simply come down to individual taste.

I believe every pick so far in this round has been merited, and you couldn't really baulk at any of them.

That said I would wager my planned pick (AKA the person WM will once again pick leaving me confused as to who to pick) probably is not the one you speak of.

My pick would have been different if I wasn't going to be picking early next round.

I had Van Basten in mind as well, plus a striker that has yet to be picked.

Was very close to taking him too. Feel he couldn't really be played anywhere other than LB or in on the left of a back 3 though and didn't really suit me.

I may do, one of the things you say but to suggest Paolo Maldini, one of the greatest defenders of all time, could not play as the LCB in a back four is madness.

Oh no, I fully believe that it would, just that he rarely did at international level which is what is being judged. I will obviously look favourably on it in a lineup as yes, he is in the top 3 defenders of all time, but having Mathäus in a set box to box role that he played the majority of his career was more appealing to me.

Rijkaard was a strong consideration of mine, as I didn't think Platini would make it to me. Offers great flexibility going forward in the draft.

I think I know who you are talking about. Also one that was on my list. They have to have made an international appearance is that correct? The lad I'm thinking of has been in squads but hasn't made it off the bench since before the given date (June 2020).
