You'll be waiting! Coombe saga seems over and at most they'll just take the Beacon out of the vaccination programme.

Listening to the Pat Kenny today it seems HSE can't afford to throw stones.

Is that really necessary for vaccinated people? I would have thought having 80%+ of the population vaccinated would mean a drastic reduction in testing.
If the vaccine means you don't have to get tested for foreign travel, surely it should apply to other situations also?

Is there any truth in this claim that Germany have offered Ireland 1 million AZ doses in a swap deal?

How does " If the government doesn’t want the 1m, allow private companies to take and vaccinate the 1m to those 480k on PuP to allow re-opening?"

What private companies would "take" 1m vaccines to administer to those on PUP?

Is this a loan? i.e. current supply swapped for future supply?

Germany have an AZ surplus now as they are only giving it to over 55s I think.

That's what he seems to suggest further down his thread.

First any of us have heard of it I'd say. I wonder where he got his info from - it definitely doesn't seem to have been in the Irish media, as they would have been all over the story.

Sounds like bollocks to me. Why would Germany offer it specifically to Ireland, it would just go back into the EU supply and divided by population per country if they didn't want it.

Yeah, that looked like a bizarre jump in logic.

Ya given his flawed logic of vacination of people on pup allows them back to work I wouldn't trust it. It doesn't solve issues in any sector involving crowds....yet

I wouldn't be keen in doing swaps either, especially if it's the Pfizer vacine, given they have all the robust data on variants while the rest are still gathering theirs.

Sounds like complete and utter crap. A random lad on twitter knows the goings on between the German & Irish governments.....

Ya, stuff like that kind of worries me. Colleges only have a month left so that seems likely it's for September when everyone should be vaccinated.

Your saying former td Noel Rock hasn't orchestrated the most significant shift in the war on covid?

Take a look at the rest of that fellas Twitter feed, clearly a bull****ter. Also is claiming up to 160k people got vaccinated by pretending to be healthcare workers. Just making up stuff for attention.

    Probably posts on boards :)

Testing vaccinated and asymptomatic people just seems pointless to me (after a high level of vaccination). All it would do would create meaningless case numbers.

How do we ever move on from widespread testing if vaccines don't change anything?

I just had to look at all the flags next to the name to guess he was a bull****ter.

That's what Harris is suggesting in fact - says he wants this so that all uni students in the country can return to their courses as soon as September (having missed an entire year at college).

Why would Germany give Ireland vaccines and not one of its neighbours? Wouldn't it be better for their economy to help out Poland/Austria etc?

    Story is complete horse****
