O'Leary Throws Down The Gauntlet To NPHET

In his most outspoken attack on NPHET yet O'Leary has gone to town on Dr Tony Holohan and his crew:

Mr O’Leary said there “aren’t lots of young people getting sick and going to hospital” and said: “Part of this is due to Nphet miscommunication, their daily press conference trying to terrify the population. The reality is the UK will have everyone over 50 vaccinated by March, Ireland needs to catch up, hopefully by the end of June.

“Nphet, and the Chief Medical Officer [Dr Tony Holohan] if he was doing his job properly, should be holding a daily press conference announcing how many people have been vaccinated, not issuing scare stories of numbers of people in hospital. He’s the CMO, he should be dealing with the vaccine as vaccination is the way out of this Covid crisis, not these failed lockdowns,” Mr O’Leary continued."

This is brilliant and a wake up call to the covidistas who have our country in s sinister grip for almost a year.

    More please!!!

    Let's take our country back!!!

But it's young people who pass it on that is the issue. And nothing about the hospitals being full and the people who are dying everyday. O' Leary couldn't give a f**k about the elderly or the vulnerable in our society and I'll make sure I'll avoid using his company from now on.

In fairness hospitals are always full this time of year, they are no different this season.

Our country is on its knees.
    Our economy is destroyed.
We face mass jobs losses mass poverty mass homelessness and ruin.
Do you want the whole country boarded up for good?
For the sake of a virus with a 99.97% survival rate.

O'Leary is great at running a no frills airline and getting maximum publicity when he needs it, I pay him no heed whatsoever.

So this winter isn’t any different to last winter?

Have you not noticed anything at all different about this winter compared to other years?

Is it possible that our full hospitals would be slightly worse off if there were no restrictions in place?

Does this still actually need to be spelled out to people

And how will young people passing the virus on to elderly people be a problem if the elderly people are vaccinated? Think about it? I'm sure you will fly on a Ryanair flight again as they are the 9/10 times cheaper than any other airline.

I'll take Mr O'Leary's advice about dealing with a pandemic as seriously as I would take Tony Holohan's views on running an airline.

They wear masks gloves space helmets rub alcohol on their hands and do whatever Tony says without question. They scream at people who pass them in the street.

You should have put this definition in your first post. It would have made it far easier to dismiss your opinion

What's wrong with wearing masks and using alcohol gel in a pandemic? Genuine question.

We are billions in debt tax returns have cratered public services public pay and PUP are only kept going because of enormous borrowings which will bankrupt the country for generations.
We face a run on the banks massive defaults home repossesions joblessness evictions and civil strife.
Tents will overflow the streets and soup kitchens will be keeping people alive.
That's how bad things are going to get and soon unless we open up NOW!

Hyperbole much? Yes, the government has borrowed enormously, the difference this time though is that it's practically free money.

The doomsday scenario you paint is as likely to happen as a zombie apocalypse.

    Get a grip.

I agree with him on holding press conferences maybe not daily but weekly on vaccination numbers

He is just trying to get attention away from there losses to other things. Attack the big bad (but forgetting the government and all other parties agree with what NPHET say) and get footfall from him. O'Leary is not doing it to be liked he is doing to get profits. 2 bad other countries will not let his customers in atm

What pandemic? It's a severe flu season. Masks do not work. Social distancing does not work. Lockdowns do not work. Hand santizer does not work.

    Reality begs to differ.

He is right about the UK getting back to normal before the rest of Europe, although they deserve to, their population and health service have been through hell.

He has a point. Too much emphasis put on NPHET and this business of leaking government advice has been a shambles.

Anyone can write letters to the country telling everyone to hide under the bed and nail a black cross to the front door...... All they are doing is covering their ass.

They are fond of scaremongering also, particularly in tandem with RTE and the push to misrepresent that the virus is overtly dangerous to the under 60's - not fair - at least be frank and honest and let the people make up their own minds.

In Germany they are only innoculating the under 65's. This got buried and misrepresented in Irish media. It got tied in with the propaganda on the Astra Zeneca shambles.... at least give us the truth and stop patronising everyone.

I spoke with friends in Germany yesterday. Last week we were being told that the German quality control had judged the vaccine not as effective on the over 65's.

I was told by a German yesterday that they are implementing a vaccination strategy of only using Astra Zeneca on under 65's as a result. For 2 reasons. The first being that the under 65's need to get back to work. The 2nd being that their own medical and pharma agency judged the vaccine to not working cohesively with over 65's.

Why are we not being told this?

You need to remember that the population of this country is largely ignorant, stupid and selfish at a fundamental level. If the messaging isn't clear that the virus is dangerous to themselves personally, the population will carry on to suit itself, harming the vulnerable in the process.

Our then thick population will then turn around and blame government for not doing anything to protect these people.

I think thats unfair, ye would get there.

But the updates from the captain as you fly would contain anecdotes about the crime rate of the city you're landing in, the weather (only if its crap), the evils of alcohol and to please report any fellow passengers who dont have their seatbelts fastened when the light is on and how

We've 10s of people dying every day from this Michael and hundreds of previously young healthy people unable to walk halfway down the road without being severely fatigued, zip it.

When the vulernerable and all frontline staff are vaccinated I don't see how lockdowns can remain, there will be tumpleweed at the HSE pressers, they would have to merge briefings with the RSA to include road deaths and hospitilisations to keep the morbid level of interest going.

I don't think they are. It is highly patronising for NPHET to assume either.

    There lies my gripe.

The least they can be with us is honest, I am sick of having to read between the lines.

Don't fall into the trap of assuming everyone is stupid, it is a lazy attitude to develop or harness.

O'Leary is a gobsh1te and has been a complete disgrace since the start of this thing.

All he cares about is shareholder returns for Ryanair. That's all he's doing. Same as Ryanair's big whinge back in April 2020 that they would be flying except that Governments won't let them. They don't give a single fvck about the safety of their passengers or crew, it's all about the money.

O'Leary's rant today is about as insightful as every other moron on boards and facebook claiming that there's some ulterior motive to what NPHET is doing and that lockdowns are ineffective.

He's got his headlines now, but really he's just pissed off because Ryanair are going to post a loss. He's a cock.

Fair play to O'Leary, if Ryanair ran the vaccination program we'd all be lining up with our priority passes ready to be jabbed...Even if it meant paying €9.99 to receive your jab there's not one person who'd complain...

Once the top 3 categories are done there is no way a locdown can go on. Other restriction such as social distancing in public and masks will continue but ya lockdown will be gone

What are they doing with other vaccines.

    I honestly don't know.

My gripe is that why are we not being told this in the media?

The same media is frantically showing us home vids of panicking 20 and 30 somethings who got a cough for 2 days. All well and good, but at least report one of our largest European neighbours conveying indifference to our state sponsored vaccine?

I just want the truth, we all deserve it.

Would depend on the footfall and everything would be extra from the staying in the waiting room before and after. By the time your vaccinated it be €200
