Georgia Certifies its Biden Electors, doors are rapidly closing for Trump now, that's 16 EC Votes that he likely has no further path to overturning!

Oh, he's trying to overturn! The latest ploy is yet another recount, this one they're wanting signatures matched to ballots! which is a physical impossibility, as signatures on envelopes are removed from the ballots once matched, and discarded. There is NO way to match them back up at this stage... And they know that! Its all about being able to say later that they asked for the match and didn't get it, so "There's Fraud"! The Sidney Powell angle is still focused on GA, crazy though her conspiracy theory is.

The meat today is in whether PA certifies or goes to deadlock. At the moment, its assumed both Dems will vote to certify and one Rep won't. If the second Rep refuses to certify, another ****show begins!

when this thread was titled Judgement Day(s) it was very prescient! Perhaps it needs to be renamed Judgement Weeks....

Trump's legal team granted leave to appeal the PA decision by Brann yesterday, they have until 4pm today to file to 3rd Circuit Court. This doesn't mean they will have any additional success mind!

Looks like Michigan will be certified today and another avenue closed (it was always going to be certified but it could have been dragged out longer).

The word on the ground changed a lot and today it was whether it would be certified 3-1 or 4-0. The swing GOP vote came in and stated it was their duty to certify and then got them to open the floor up for public input that included respected GOP people that said it must be done.

It's live on YouTube. Already over an hour in and the two Republicans are dragging their feet. Won't let a vote happen until then hear from "witnesses". They think they are in court or something.

Yer man Shinkle looks like he's gonna use the fact that the Detroit City Clerk Winfrey did not make herself available as a 'critical witness' to drag his feet further.

On a seperate but related note, one of the positive by-products of Covid is the extent to which people can get to see the behind the scenes stuff on Zoom- nothing like seeing how the sausage is made!!

I'm thinking that's why they have called recess, so someone can get her online.

Cox from the MI GOP on now... oooh! They were awful 'disrespectful' to our Republican watchers and monitors in Wayne County. So, we need another investigation coz they were mean to us...

    These Republicans are pathetic.

Van Langevelde (Rep) is pushing back fairly hard against the notion they must adjourn and/or refuse to certify.

Winfrey on now... called in from a medical emergency she is dealing with. She is spitting fire...

We give out a lot about broadband in Irl... but the number of people on that Zoom call who sound like they're using a pair of tin cans joined by string to communicate in unbelievable.. Comms infrastructure in Michigan is not great!

That said, the message is coming across quite clearly that the Rep strategy is still to get the Wayne County (City of Detroit- 80% black) vote nullified! It is so obvious that its painful... Voter Suppression courtesy of the 2020 GOP. This time, they failed to prevent ppl from voting, so now they want to prevent those votes from being counted.

And the poisonous loathing that seems endemic in the politics of that place is palpable. Eye opening to see!

The thing is, the result in Detroit was almost exactly the same in this election as it was in 2016. 67%-30% against Trump. No statistical anomalies.

According to Twitter there are 500 people waiting to speak and they are allocating them 1.5 to 2 mins each! They will never get around to voting at this rate.

I do like the fact that citizens can get directly involved in these proceedings. But it'll take them hours to get through them all.

Same in nearly all the big cities. Trump generally kept his vote at the same level or even increased it in some places. It was elsewhere where he lost by much larger numbers than 2016.

Logically it makes no sense but narratively it fits in with their 'evil big cities and residents'. I presume they'll use all these conspiracy theories to try to further disenfranchise voters in the future.

Gonna have to call a guillotine... Or else, this will go on for weeks... Certify already!

    500 ppl @ 3 minutes per. = 25 Hours!!!!!

And then people who use up their valuable minutes waffling on about 'I am not going to take long...I know lots of people want to speak...thank you for this opportunity...ye are doing a great job'. Your man giving out about the machines being connected to the internet was mildly convincing to a non-tecky, don't know if it would stand up to scrutiny. Have you sent your complaint to the AG? Er, well no.

One of the Reps, Aaron Van Langevelde, just said he will vote to certify. Doesn't sound like Shinkle will but I don't think it has to be unanimous?

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,124 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Shinkle abstained! After all that. Anyway Michigan has certified so expect Trump to have a meltdown.

It's already game over, Biden doesn't need PA now, it just pads his lead from 286 to 306!

Yep it was the suburbs trump got his hammering in more so than any massive change in the likes of Detroit

It's just brazen stuff in these court filings in PA. 'We only want to pick through 1.5 million votes and decide which ones to take off Biden's total'.

After failing to turn up to answer questions in the House. Got a fairly sharpish letter from said committees setting a deadline for tomorrow. I suspect; discretion being the better part of valour, Emily bravely folded her tent and (figuratively) ran away. The house of cards is starting to collapse.

Emily Murphy must have secured a new job because trump will fire her now for doing what she is tasked with doing.

The response that her deputy would give them a thirty minute briefing next Monday and as you say they told her to jog on sums up the mess that it’s become .

This is quite funny. Wouldn't be surprised if that was intentional. ;)

The letter that was sent to Biden has a middle paragraph that’s part “don’t fire me I did my job independently” and apparently her pets got online treats.
