played today a 12 hole comp. 6 holes were greyed out. Score has appeared on my record but says ineligible for handicap. Never seen this before. I was of the understanding that once you played at least 10 holes it would count.

    Anyone?

I can see your round in the app.

I am fairly certain that the 12 hole comp needs to include the entire front 9 or entire back 9 for it to be eligible.

Spot on. You must complete a full 9 hole course as part of the total. So either front or back 9 which have an official slope/rating.

If you think about the reasoning it makes sense. There's no rating for playing 4 holes from the front and 6 from the back

The competition has to be set up as an 18 hole competition though. With the unplayed holes marked on the card and computer as holes not played.

    thanks fellas

It can be set up as a comp with fewer than 18 holes and works perfectly fine with WHS. At least in ClubV1 anyway. Say that 16-18 are closed, then the software doesn't let you enter a score for those holes. It submits the 15 holes and automatically marks the others as DNP (did not play). You do have to create a 15-hole "course" in the settings and then select that when creating the new comp.

Yeah, but it's effectively an 18 hole competition. Otherwise there wouldn't be a course and slope rating.

interestingly I now have 21 games above the green line with one marked as not eligible

never seen this before, has anyone else?

or is it a new thing?

I think it would be a good thing to have your non qualifying rounds visible in the app. even if there was a toggle to show or hide them.

also speaking as handicap sec, it would be a good to be able to see these rounds for members when reviewing.

old system had non qualifying rounds visible

    thoughts?

Only have 20 above the green line in mine.

Does your club software not give you access to all member's rounds, not just the qualifying ones?

It's rare but I've seen it happen a few times with clubv1. I don't know if it's intended behaviour from clubv1 but the whs accepts the round as a record. However it's not marked as counting in your best 20.

The couple of times I've seen it were end/start of year comps where a hole was closed. I think it was a case of no full 9 hole course being completed. Eg 15 hole comp. Where the 3rd was closed and they played 1-2 and 4-16.

    Anyone doing their AHR?

Is it just me or in the PDF Leinster golf sent out, the links for the forms that we need to fill out are not active and I cannot find them by searching on the website.

There's a Connacht branch seminar taking place at the end of the week, so I presumed we wouldnt be doing anything with AHR until after that. Is there no online seminars happening for Leinster/The Other Provinces ?
