Oh, Dear. Monkey hear no good? Get over it. We’re on schedule and will soon be open for business again.

Oh really when is this going to happen Maryanne?

We are 20,000 down on the 100,000 planned to be vaccinated last week

    That is NOT ON SCHEDULE

I am shocked that the HSE would miss a target like this. It is not like the HSE to miss targets like this. Shocked I am, shocked.

The Govt promised 100,000, they failed to deliver. I was aware when i posted it there was a delay but the Govt and supporters said 100,000 will be done.

Why didn't they come out and say oh we will be 20,000 short? This was known to them last week

    Misleading the public

No you weren't. You even backed away from the comment at the time (and edited it quietly) when it was pointed out to you that you were basing it on 3 days of data.

Not sure why you feel the need to make that up and make it appear you had some big inside scope at the time, when you clearly didn't?

There wasn't a peep out of you when the HSE beat their weekly targets in the 2 weeks prior. Unnecessary HSE bashing when the issue is with AstraZeneca supply.

Do you mean 24th for vaccine roll out?
10th in people got the two jabs. I mean if we'd only two doses and gave them to one person we might be number 1

We're 24th in the absolute number of vaccine distributed. This is to be expected for a smaller country. Germany have vaccinated more people than are in Ireland but have vaccinated less people per 100,000 than us.

Agreed. My point stands regarding us being tenth in full vaccinations.

Backed away from nothing. I was proven correct, we failed the 100,000 last week.

    Hopefully this week is better

We were there had they not ignored the expert advice. No biggie any more, we know if we lockdown the numbers will go down.

That was pre vaccination. Once vaccination ramps up, we’ll be back in business.

The target to vaccinate all over 85s by end of the week has failed with some GPs been given a date of 11th March

The last word discussing it now

    "I was proven correct"

    Gas revisionism.

Staying locked down in november into january ,the run up to and including xmas wouldnt have done it Francie, there would have been multiple upon multiple of house parties and uncontrolable house mixing with the new variant
Pubs were turning people away in droves up untill 3pm xmas Eve,despite dire warnings that day on the news
    Huge numbers didnt care
You only have to look at Wales which got worse and worse and then only slow improvement despite a pre xmas and post xmas lockdown
They're still in lockdown,a longer one than ours but only now are much improved but have a third of all adults vaccinated which has helped
This virus is trial and error
Not giving the break from lockdown in november and december I suspect would have lead to even more ignoring restrictions than there is now (and theres a lot!)

I thought Astra Zenica wasn't to be used on the over 80s?

The throw your hands up in the air 'sure what can you do?' defence.
Lets stop funding drink drive campaigns and take the Garda off check points...
The government did not follow NPHET advice and cases spiraled to worst in the world at one point.

Nothing to do with people losing the run of themselves? There’s no legislating for stupidity.

Vaccinations are being done. The reopening of the country is in sight. Let’s hold tough for another few weeks. Think positive. There’s enough negativity out there.

And do you not think the govt should legislate 'just in case people lose the run of themselves?'
Why are they always so reactive and so far behind what the general public want?
    A totally inept govt.

What do the general public want dude?

Some want this.... some want that.

The govts. job is to take all considerations into consideration.

One trick ponies have ....erm..... only one trick.

Okay bro, just going from mainstream media surveys, quarantine, lockdowns at Christmas, bans on flights. You know, everything the govt haven't been doing.

Everything to do with that too.
Where did I say it wasn't, "monkey hear no good"?

There's thinking positive and pointing out incompetence they are not mutually exclusive. We can only improve if we acknowledge mistakes.

False narratives should be pointed out IMO. You claimed it would have been the same or worse if they had have followed NPHET advice. That, in my book, is blarney.
