That has nothing to do with the question you were asked, and indeed not just you, but all those that are basically anti everything.

The question was what was your alternative.

People gave you alternatives and you just went right back to saying that nobody was offering any alternatives.

Why didn't they create extra ICU beds ?
They had 7 months to plan for this and they did nothing .
30 extra ICU beds is all they could muster, Sweden doubled their capacity in 3 weeks.
    Its shambolic.

And this is the entire reason for this lockdown, to compensate for the utter ****show that is our health system, and to protect the political careers of those who have been unwilling to take steps to fix it.

The "5km rule" is hilarious, supermarkets are well beyond 5km distance for those in rural areas.

    It's Level 5 but not Level 5.

    Meat Plants can stay open.
    Schools stay open.
    Ports still open.
Horse Racing allowed to carry on behind closed doors
    Manufacturing and Construction still allowed.

Guess Level 5 is really Level 5+Big Business...

Now you know who FF/FG listened to

So the places staying open are the ones actually linked with covid clusters? While we close the places that aren't?

Its a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off.

AFAIK at least in the first lockdown, travel for essential reasons (grocery shopping being one) is "permitted".

I agree though, the 5km rule is absolute b*llocks in general though!

Its hilarious in the sense that nobody is going to pay one bit of attention to it. I know I'm not.

    It obbiously doesn't.

But how do you figure anyone is unemployed in the second scenario? Unless you sit on one of the workers and use them as a chair then you still need to have the same staff to make your takeaway food and drink. You just eat it in a different location.

OK, reasonable question, from my experience places with outdoor dining have had a hostess/server and a barista/barman/chef, if you remove the outdoor dining aspect, you put the hostess/server out of work....

    Are garages /car retailers open?

My son has a car bought from a dealer (needs it for work obviously) won't be ready until Friday. Are they open?

    I agree!

Fact: resistance of infection fits the medical definition of immunity

Fact: despite 780M estimated worldwide cases and 40M confirmed worldwide cases, there is less than 50 (maybe even less than 30) confirmed reinfections. Hence it being widely disregarded as a potential issue. That position may change of course should reinfections sky rocket. But there are no signs that will happen

It may fit the medical definition but if you can still become infected and in turn infect others but in practical terms it means very little.
The ratio of deaths to confirmed cases is 3%
My point had much more to do with the very questionable theory on acquired herd immunity than just confirmed reinfections.

Once again Charlie14, what do you think is the herd immunity level in the country right now?

Another one who won't be affected by lockdowns, public servant maybe?

Yea they should just get over being forcibly made unemployment for no reason while having mortgages and other bills over their heads.

I could go on and on.

ten out of ten for the reference! :D:

I was in aldi earlier lads, what a **** show. Everybody at the tills, was on top of each other, like pre lockdown. I actually found it amusing. I couldnt care less for all this bull**** any more. The problem is, if thats how so many are thinking, and you are adopting the government approach here to dealing with the problem. Well you then have to do draconian shut downs, because you have lost many of the people's good will.

you do that level of lockdown, if they dont change direction and many have had enough of the bull****, actions speak louder than words. How long can it last before A) finances start becoming a serious issue or B) they change the response?

Every budget and their only concern is to buy off pensioners and those on welfare! absolute comedy! the HSE is a financial black hole and whats that you mention? "reform"? reform? LOL! LOL! Varadkar will stop flying kites before any systematic issues here were every tackled! The multinational insane revenues here, allow them a lot of room to take the piss...

I already told you what I believed the level of immunity was.
As to herd immunity, do you believe it is possible to be a little bit pregnant ?
From my previous answer to your question it appears you do

So you agree it meets the definition but doesn’t mean that’s what it means??? Are you sure you even know the definition of the word definition Charlie?

Chef would be in the kitchen obviously but generally I find the hostess/barista to be the same person.

I don’t think they had a first. They had restrictions yeah but an actual lockdown I don’t think was implemented. Happy to be corrected tho.

Legally enforceable, they are apparently discussing the graduated level of fines for breeches.
