Right wingers acting the victim is like pouring a cup of water into the Atlantic. I only notice when they don't do it at this stage.

The problem with being on the extreme of the political spectrum is that the second you fail an ideological purity test in the absence of a galvanising force, you're done. The far right has been stagnating a bit fairly recently so the impetus for the extremists to remain united has been relatively lacking.

Yiannopoulos has boasted about being at parties with "very young boys". My capacity to sympathise with him evaporated a long time ago.

I spent a good chunk of my evening looking at https://www.reddit.com/r/ParlerWatch/.

    My god it's a cesspit.

Tulsi Gabbard is fairly active on Parler I note...

It's worth it to just see just how fupped up they are. I mean, they have to verify identity to use Parler as it stands.

There's also a guy trolling them with a Parler Customer Service handle which is worth seeking out.

I created an account just to take a look , you can't browse without logging in - I lasted about 15 minutes.

Aside from the utter tripe posted , the actual application is a horror show.

It's just a messed up blend of Twitter, Reddit and Facebook in terms of Interface.

    It's dreadful.

And as you say , it's utterly riddled with fake shill accounts and thousands of porn links.

Oh absolutely - That's going to be the battle.

He'd like to move permanently to live there , maybe because he just likes it or perhaps because of this "Homestead exemption" but he will have to overcome the deal he made 30 odd years ago when he first took over Mar-a-Lago.
He'll just do it. He'll just move there. He'll declare it his homestead, and then he'll spend years fighting it in court and burning money to do so. He won't be physically evicted, his assets won't be seized, he won't be charged with tax evasion. Because that's for poor people.

The US justice system is faster than ours, but with enough money you can slow it down. By the time he's exhausted all his legal options he'll have been living there for the best part of a decade (if he's still alive), then he'll sell up, give the IRS their money and go somewhere else.

I don't think it's a simple as liquidating his assets and paying off the IRS.
His whole business model is leaning on licensing his name to the asset, rather than being the asset owner. Not to mention he's heavily leveraged on other things, his whole reason for turning Mar a Lago into a club rather than his own private residence is that he couldn't afford the upkeep

There should be a charge of putting the justice system into disrepute (similar to wasting police time) for people who deliberately game the system

I'll wait to see the outcome of the complaints laid against Rudy by his fellow lawyers to the lawyers [fitness to practice] licensing board over his bringing cases to the USSC and other courts without him ensuring he has sufficient evidence to support the cases. I don't know if he was merely overseeing the cases in the other states outside NY as I understood he'd have to be licensed to practice law in those states, as well as in NY and [presumably] Washington DC as Trump's personal lawyer there. If there was enough evidence to show he was being frivolous as an officer of the court by bringing time-wasting cases to court, he might end up having his law license/s cancelled or put on hold.

It might be a positive, in crystallising in a real way the debacle he's been. New Potus operating from some other office.
Camp David I presume is adequate.
Maybe Trump would rent out Mar-a-Lago to the Govn't?

I'd look forward to this, wouldn't the Secret Service just drag him out like any intruder?

I don't think Trump would have the balls to try and stand up to them, if he's proven anything over the last 4 yrs it's that he's a coward.

Champ and Major would achieve the same IWT. That would be really fun to see.

If you read that 'press release' which may or may not be real, astonishing that its difficult to tell, he is not going to leave the White house before 20th January. Well no-one is asking him to! Then he is going to go and play presidents at Maralargo. That's fine, keep him out of mischief.

Edit, when you look at it, its a very clear indication that he understands Biden is going to be sworn in, and move into the White House.

I'd kind'a like the health people to go in on the 19th wearing haz-mat suits and start stripping the house of all its fittings and furniture in preparation for the covid-19 deep-clean while he's still there "sorry, Mr President, the bed has to go".

The Parler stuff is a little unsettling. So does "Liberal bias" really just mean bans being handed out for calling for murder?

Just finished watching Jon Meacham on his TV adaption of Soul of America about Trump & America. It ranged back in time to Joe McCarthy & Ed Murrow, how it was a different newspaper editor who pulled the rug from under JMac by insisting he would not publish anything said by JMac until he had double-checked it for truth and factuality so ended not publishing a lot of McCarthy's claims. Last night I watched "The King's Speech" and caught the part of it where the person playing the role of Stanley Baldwin spoke to the King and told him Hitler had no moral character. Looking at Trump, I can see there is a muchness in the lack of character, just bluster in his case, instead of what lay behind Hitler's face.

I see how responsible editors [incl those show-hosting Trump's claims] are letting him away with criminal actions any other person NOT in a position of authority would be led away in handcuffs or medical restraints because they have no thought of asking him the basic question "can you prove what you're saying?". The TV show hosts on Fox News are responsible for the content of their shows but are being let away with wholesale lying by the public. If Trump wants the people running and modd-ing public platforms to be held accountable for their actions, then the same must go for TV show hosts as they are also running and modd-ing public platforms.

Dutch prosecutors have confirmed that Trump used MAGA2020! as his twitter password. It took a security researcher 5 guesses.

Back in 2012 Trump used yourefired as his password for linkedin and they were able to get into his twitter account in 2016 before the election.

Makes you wonder who else was logging in and having a look around at whatever sites he used during his presidency.

Trump adviser Peter Navarro releases an election fraud report he admits ‘leaves you with more questions than answers’ - clearly, not a report then and more of a string of accusations. Indeed the document basically accumulates and regurgitates already debunked claims but puts it in a neater, more official seeming package with a newer time and date on it for Parler-bots to gobble up.

    https://www.mediaite.com/election-2020/peter-navarro-repeatedly-calls-for-trump-to-appoint-special-prosecutor-to-investigate-2020-election-trump-cant-do-that/

That and Michael Flynn is still calling for a military coup d’êtait. No. Seriously. That’s not a euphemism he wants us to do what we did in Iraq: roll out the military and coerce citizens to vote again while we roll tanks through the street.

    https://www.mediaite.com/election-2020/michael-flynn-calls-for-military-rerun-of-presidential-race-in-swing-states-dismisses-georgia-senate-runoff-as-fake-election/

The only way I wrap my head around it is Navarro is getting a pardon and Flynn is getting another because, maybe I’m flying off the handle here, but how in the **** is that not Insurrection? We have a constitutional crisis if a Lameduck incumbent can try to stage a coup and then pardon himself for his efforts.

The ball is still in open court on the issue of the U.S army courts-martialling retired army officers, including those of general staff rank. It's been opined by one army legal expert that generals could be courts-martialled for criticizing Trump while he's president. If that were to be correct, then General Flynn could find himself in a court of a different type to the USSC [civil] court for any comments inciteful of insurrection against the constitution. There are precedents of retired generals, one in 2017, being courts-martialled after retirement. As Sarge told Beetle Bailey [comic-quip] "the army is a totalitarian organization dedicated to the defence of democracy" or something like that.

"Liberal bias" and "MSM" are just ways for conservatives to dismiss arguments they disagree with while thinking they're doing so in a logical and reasonable manner. It prevents them from thinking too much or asking questions which is pretty much the antithesis of conservatism.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Seems like the Russian hack of the USG is more widespread than originally thought. And of course, the #IMPOTUS says nothing about it, this being technical stuff and all, and hey they found llamas voting for Biden in Argentina look over there!

Acting head of the Pentagon has stopped cooperation with the Biden team. I guess an incoming president doesn't need briefings or any of that jazz while everyone is losing their collective **** over a cyber attack.

And just a few months ago Trump disbanded the exact department constructed to deal with such an attack in mind. Just like he did with the pandemic team last year

No, you're misunderstanding his point. It's not Grifting because other people are at it, and because they're doing it in some manner, no matter how small, it means the original crime is ok.

Funny that the defense bill the trump has threatened to veto contains a clause specifically for this type of money laundering
