I don't understand the picture. What is the item supposed to be? Is it a book of blank paper like the piles of blank printer paper that represented the Trump businesses from a few years ago? Is it just a doorstop?

Maybe it's a list of all the people who've lost their health insurance since Donnie was elected?

It doesn't make sense it's just meaningless, the Trump administration are masters of just saying things. The type of people who read that and think it's a good thing are morons.

They always verve towards the theatrical and the photo-op rather than actually doing anything substantial, or indeed *anything* at all.

I mean apparently the whole Covid-19 crisis was ended when yer man ripped off his mask on a balcony after coming out of hospital. Like when the BLM protestors were reassured that everything was okay when he tear-gassed the people outside the church and brandished a bible. And the way North Korea were convinced to give up nuclear weapons development and free their people when he stood in front of a flag.

I always thought that the photo-op followed something substantial being decided or agreed upon. An image to commemorate a significant moment. However, now I see that the photo-op is seen by this regime as an end in itself. Clueless, empty, unqualified regime that they are.

I read somewhere that he stormed off in a huff. Didn't like her questions so ended the interview abruptly.

Or maybe he didn't want to share the stage with Pence, didn't want to have to discipline and control his thoughts and utterances to fit in with another person, even his VP, didn't want to have to keep quiet while someone else spoke. Or maybe he has fallen out with Pence. Who knows?

He’s claiming he’s going to release the interview before it’s air date because of his normal reasons because of fake news and all that.
I'm actually kind of fascinated about how they'd even go about doing this. Would the White House have their own cameras and mics active during interviews like this too I wonder?

    Everyone knows.
He threw a strop over questions and criticisms and stormed off.

All will be revealed in the coming days.

Trumps team on the attack against Stahl for not wearing a mask.

    Karoline Leavitt raising it.

    Kayleigh McEnany posted this picture:

What you can see clearly is Stahl's mask beside her notes.

I remember when McEnany got the job she promised she would never lie.

But it’s OK for Kayleigh not to wear one?

Let him release it, then let them.release the unedited version because we all know that's exactly what team Trump will do, they will chop it to try make him look good.

Apparently it was a condition of the interview that the White House had a copy of it.

Donald Trump paid nearly $200,000 in taxes to China, report claims

Can't wait to see the knots that the MAGA crowd tie themselves in trying to square this circle with the knowledge he's paid hardly any US tax.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,730 ✭✭✭abff

At this point, it seems that the only option open to the Trump team is to try to discredit Biden. Apart from going after him through his son Hunter, it seems quite likely that they will make something up and present it as a smoking gun that renders him unfit for office.

Naturally, the MAGA crowd will enthusiastically jump on board. But are there that many undecided voters out there who might be swayed by such a tactic? I would like to think not, but I guess it’s unwise to underestimate the gullibility and stupidity of those who are perhaps leaning towards Biden, but still not 100% decided despite everything Trump has done and said over the past 4 years.

If only he'd paid that much in the US ;)

Supporting the socialist market economy Utopia whilst avoiding any tax possible stateside.
Things like this should be spun hard and long by Dems.

Granted the China tax may well be corporate rather than personal but the optics must be shaped by the Dems to magnify Trump's hypocrisy IMO.

Probably just all the death certificates for Americans who died of Covid19.

Most likely he threw a strop because the interviewer kept asking him questions about the past 10 months.

As utterly crass and awful as it would be, I wouldn’t be surprised if trump and his allies dragged beau biden and joe Biden’s first wife and daughter through the mud. I mean given the polls and how bad it’s going nothing unfortunately would surprise me.

Edit: also I don’t know what the high on viewership has been for 60 minutes this season but it’s a safe bet that this Sunday’s episode will be close if not top that. Trump does this all the time. If he’d shut up about the books written about him and his administration they’d have still sold well but would be no where as successful as they became.

It does seem like he's on the outs with Pence. Maybe he got whiff of Pence plotting behind his back when he was errr...incapacitated with the 'rona :D

yeah I think the Hunter stuff was their main October surprise that they released early with the idea of it gaining traction in the media for three weeks before polling day, thus allowing Trump to constantly talk about it and hammer the point home.

But because it didnt gain any proper media traction now they are going to have to put plan B into operation, whatever that may be. Knowing Trump he will still send Guiliani as the messenger but he's lost all credibility at this stage so it wont work. At this point the Trump campaign are like a heavyweight boxer losing on points in the 12th round and trying desperately to throw haymakers and knockout blows but they are just punching fresh air.

This will be the last thing Trump needs the week before the election, trying to distance himself from his personal lawyer that is running a smear campaign against his rival. By Saturday he'll claim he doesn't even know who Rudy is.

No wonder Rudi was so desperate to get something/anything out about Biden. He was hoping that would be a bigger story than this.

Even before he reaches into his trousers, Giuliani does not appear to acquit himself especially impressively during the encounter. Flattered and flirtatious, he drinks scotch, coughs, fails to socially distance and claims Trump’s speedy actions in the spring saved a million Americans from dying of Covid. He also agrees – in theory at least – to eat a bat with his interviewer.

Hahahahaha jeez! It is truly impressive how trump and his cabal find new ways to outdo themselves

Oh Christ this crowd make the keystone cops look like pros. Also I’m sure Jeffrey toobin is happy he’s not the only New Yorker who’s been caught on camera having a go at himself.

Trump seems really scared of the 60 minutes interview from his continued tweets about it. It must have gone off the charts terribly for him, even compared to the other disastrous recent interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if they release their own cut of it in advance of Sunday, which will in turn just draw more eyes and discussion to the actual interview for what he leaves out.

Just a few minutes ago he just released pictures of a giant prop book that is supposed to show his actions on healthcare and if you look closely it looks like there is no text in the book, just blank pages.

How is it possible to continue to be so incompetent and run the same lie multiple times with pages of blank paper, and get caught doing it, but still come back and try the same trick thinking that nobody would notice this time.

I get that Trump is that brainless, but how are those around him still enabling the idiocy? Did someone else come up with the idea and think they were being really clever? If Trump insisted on the presentation of a book of blank pages are those around him so terrified of him that they couldn't tell him not to be so stupid? Why didn't the person tasked with putting the pages together think to put some words on the pages?

    The idiocy is infectious.

It'd be more surprising if it wasn't empty. He's done this repeatedly.

Feels suitably emblematic of the Trump presidency really: a big vulgar gesture containing no actual detail or follow through. Yet the shiny embossed cover would fool some folks in any case, until a cursory glance at reality reveals the empty truth.

Borat/Guiliani story unfolding, utterly lost for words how this shower of reprobates and scumbags was let anywhere near the Whitehouse. Will the US ever recover from this sordid episode?

To answer my past self: Of course it's a book of blank pages! What an absolute clown show.
