You said “several” aims? That’s one aim.

You’re going to entirely “reject” this organisation because you disagree on one aspect of their stated aims? So everything else they stand for is also rejected? Is that not a bit ott? Whatever happened to tolerance.

Supporting BLM in their aims to promote racial equality doesn’t mean we’re all going to abandon our families and become communists.

Interesting insight into some of the prevailing thinking on here though, thanks for that a chara.

There are other aims I don't agree with, also.

Tolerance - I do tolerate them, I just don't agree with their aims.

I tolerate PBP, I know one of their active members, but I don't agree with them.

You said; "So I reject this organisation.". Doesn't sound very tolerant.

I'm sure they'll be delighted to know that you tolerate them. I don't agree with everything they say either, however at the risk of being labelled an SJW, Marxist/Leninist virtue signaller, and in the context of this thread, I don't think it's harmful to have an open discussion re statues and street names that may need to be updated or relocated as the case may be.

    I reject one-off rural housing.

In Ireland, many people want one-off rural housing, although I don't agree with it.

So we have lots of one-off rural housing, which I tolerate, although I don't accept it.

I try to convince people that one-off rural housing is unsustainable.

Take this cringy race baiting shyte and fuk off back to America with it.

That's not very tolerant. Race baiting is already here by the way, we've got one or two Indos in the Dail that utilise it for their own benefit.

Took you a while to come up with that segue.

    Go. Back. To. America.

I think maybe you're a little confused. I'm warning against American type politics becoming more mainstream here. Divisive them and us politics that has been going on for centuries with the latest edition grotesquely culminating in Trump in the White House.

Who would that be now, these "known trollers"?

:pac: That's a good one Rodney, never heard that before.

It is amazing though the level of ferocity in the opposition to a call for discussion around monuments and street names etc. Quite a heated response.

Feel free to bring your dismay to Help Desk.
This thread is about the political party People Before Profit wanting to remove a monument.

I wouldn't be losing sleep over it Rodney. The opinions expressed speak for itself.

Reads like a PBP press release.

    Who else would quote Engels.

Are you suggesting that the Galway Advertiser has been infiltrated by Trotskyists?

I find that difficult to believe.

I find that difficult to believe.

As I said, who else would quote Engels of all people? Who is ‘The Insider’?

(I’m not a regular reader of the Galway Advertiser and I have no interest in reading any more of it, so I don’t know if that was sarcasm.)
