May the 37 people who died rest in peace

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,055 ✭✭✭UrbanFret

86 currently in ICU. This number continues to reduce, so its good news on that front anyway.

Not sure that tells you much. If they all died tonight (god Forbid) there would be no one in ICU tomorrow.

I work in Dublin City center and I dunno what has changed this week but the clear difference in the amount of people around today compared to previous weeks.

Social distancing seems to be gone out the window in a lot of cases as well as there's groups of people everywhere.

I'm on the luas home atm and it's also that bit busier and again people seem to be glued to each other.

I noticed this too. It must be the new 5km rule.

I think Dr.T is going to explode if he has to explain to the TV3 reporter(again) why they say the hairdressers can’t come back sooner....

BREAKING: Health officials have confirmed a further 37 deaths of patients diagnosed with Covid-19 and 265 new confirmed cases in Ireland.

How is there still so many new cases!? Surely it should be closer to 25/26 by now and not 265

UK are anyway, about an hour every day.

Current numbers (going up or down) in acute hospitals plus current numbers in ICU are a good indicator of where we are at IMO.

It tells us that the ICU capacity has not been reached or is close to being reached. So anyone who needs care will receive it. It’s arguably the most important measure of how we are coping with Covid.

More testing and I presume a high percentage in nursing homes and other residential homes.

In fairness maybe it's good that she's there in a way, because the dumb questions she asks are probably the dumb questions that other people on the street ask.

Weddings and now Hairdressing . First world problems in the middle of a pandemic. She is out of touch with reality . Immature and unprofessional

    How many in ICU?

Still quite a number new cases each day. Forgetting percentages, there’re still hundreds per day being added to the infected list..

She's not doing much for the advancement of the fairer sex, it's all weddings and hairdos, I suppose she'll be asking when she can buy a new handbag tomorrow.

But these are the questions that the general working public want answered.

Not how many different strains of the virus there are, or the molecular breakdown of the virus..

Thats an utter load of nonsense. Vast majority of today are long term care settings. Let's see what demand is like from the community with no priority grouping

You must look at the percentage from number of tests done. Numbers will go up if more testing done.

Very true but from a purely statistical point of view I'd like to know the outcomes of these patients that are leaving ICU, Did they recover or did they sadly not make it.

Nope. It's just the fact that every single weekend the numbers go down and go back up again by usually Tuesday. This time Wednesday because of bank holiday. It's because there isn't enough people working weekends to do the admin work for confirmation of deaths.
