Australia is freaking massive and they have temps that would be an Irish summer even in the colder parts.

Parts of Western Australia are upto 30C and the red centre is definitely up there.
Anyway it apepars to be a bit of a myth that heat kills this as can be seen by the numbers in Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, India, etc.

Yep they ordered some last week, but the world is crying out for them.
Actually guy on Sky News right now discussing vents and how Britain trying to get them.
We manufacture them here, same as masks, government could requisition if necessary under State of Emergency. Given compensation issues, I don't see this caretaker government doing it until forced by overwhelming public outcry, given their track record

Not the EU. Try to read slowly. The idea of unity and solidarity is crashing. EU closed down the shop in case you did not notice.

Bit of a stretch really. Different countries have different opninions or at different stages of the disease. Doesn't mean cooperation between states is over.

Staff seem to be putting a sign on the door

This whole situation show how whole idea of european union is crashing all around us. Absolutely no word from Brussels, first thing they did was to suspend parliament and basically shut down the shop.
It seems that it is now every state for themselves. Every state taking different approach and measures.

What do you think the EU is? Haven't many of us spent almost 4 years patiently explaining the very limited extent of its powers over the internal policies of member states? It's an international arrangement to facilitate economic integration through common minimum standards, not Mammy and Daddy coming to save you.

Only Brexit loons believe it controls health services and police/military deployments.

The Temple Bar must be closing.
It looks like staff are putting a notice on the door. Dunno if they are actually staff though.

No and not every pub is a memeber anyway

But they act in unison in my town when our ethnic friends arrive.

So I’d imagine this will be the same.

Well it did in Wuhan/China. So it can happen

Don’t believe anything that comes from China it’s not a normal country.

They can do things we can’t.
They can disappear people they don’t like or don’t suit them.
They can lock down like no other country.
They can hide things and lie like no other country.

Pubs will not be open on Paddys Day.

A few people have taken a photo of the sign, so that suggests it has something peculiar written on it rather than "We are closed"

Yeah on data and the effectiveness of measures there is likely to be a full exchange.

Why then were Harris and Coveny telling us we cannot shut down our borders due to Eu rules?

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,950 ✭✭✭dodzy

This thread is moving at such a pace, impossible to keep up. I heard that we are more than double in terms of days/positive cases dentified compared to where Italy was ? Holy jesus if true.

Because Simon Harris is about as useful as a dehydrated cabbage.
