    Hi Celticbest,

Submitted the paperwork now and in fairness they are good at getting back to me.

I was on jobseekers from March to August so they have asked for a letter from Intreo confirming what payments I received in 2020.

I don't see why it matters but i have applied for the letter anyway.

They will do a trial run with you and explain all you need to know

I did one and it's fine. They will tell you what will happen and go through it all as you go along.
The best of luck with the interview.

Just curious for anyone who recently started a new role, with most office staff working from home and social distancing with staff in the office, how would training in of new staff operate?

Anyone have issues uploading the application form and emailing passport? I had to do both by midnight last night. The link in my message to upload the application form is giving an error pop up and I’ve just got a bounce back email in my junk telling me the co2020 email inbox is full so the email with my passport wasn’t delivered.

I had the same. Tried ringing and the lines are closed so sent all the requirements and explanation to info@publicjobs.ie. I'm waiting for an acknowledgement but I only sent it 4 hours ago. I expect it to be fine....I hope

I did the same this morning and I’ve just got an email back to say it was an error with the deadline closing before it should have and then I got another email with confirmation that it’s all been submitted.

Have examples of the competencies. A little knowledge of the CS, more specifically it's values would be advantageous.

    Hi Sarah Elizabeth,

I passed this interview last month. As far as i remember these were the questions:

    1. Teamwork, Customer Service & Communication Skills:

There was a big focus on this one, in particular what was the best team you were a part of and what was it that made this team work so well?

    2. Delivery of Results and Information Management/Processing:

For this the question related to how you manage time, and what do you do to ensure you can delivery on time to the best of your ability

    3. Drive and Commitment:

What motivates you in the work you do?

    4. Specialist Knowledge, Expertise and Self Development:

Was asked a lot about my knowledge of MS Office. in particular Excel, Word & Outlook.

    Good Luck!!!

I'm starting in dept. of agriculture at end of month.
Can any one advice me on dress code for male?.
Could I be working from home ?
What are Christmas holidays and will I get paid for them after working a short period of time?

What’s the next step after submitting your vetting invitation and references and how long does that take? I sent them in over a week ago and haven’t had any response yet.

I’m supposed to be starting my role at the end of the month but I don’t want to hand in my notice until I signed a contract.

Really depends on the section within the Department, but I would go with smart casual at the start. Again, depending on the section, you may or may not be working from home. I work in DAFM and have been working from home since April. There are no set Christmas holidays as all offices will be open for business. We work Christmas Eve and back in again on the 27th.

Best of luck, it’s a great Department to work in :)

COs is our place wear anything from jeans and a jumper to one who is suited and booted. I'd suggest shirt and tie on the first day, you can always take the tie off but only get one go at a first impression.

Historically, what dress code have CO's who got promoted followed?

As a general rule, dress for the job you want, not the one you have.

Have not received the link for Garda e-vetting yet though.

Got my email yesterday, it had the following forms attached - all gone back now,
    • Garda Vetting - declaration.
    • Declaration Document
    • Scanned Documents
    • Reference

Also asked whether I was in receipt of a social welfare payment, which I wasn't, seems a bit strange.

A friend got their Email yesterday also with same forms.
They were Batch 14 number 23 if that's any help to people waiting.
There wasn't anything on the email to say where to send the forms so just replied to sender.
Had to send a few separate emails as the attachments were too big to send in one email.

Re social welfare question - Friend is on Pandemic payment so put that in the email.
Didn't see a reason to not say it as the email specifically asks if on any social welfare payments.

Hope that's helpful to anyone waiting.

Going by people I know who already work in the CS, I think you just get Christmas Day, St. Stephen's Day, and New Year's Day off.
