Marcella ... Not as gripping as the stranger, but worth a try.

IMO Marcella is a superior watch.

Watched The Platform tonight, what an utterly bizarre film.

    Bizarre as in worth watching?

I enjoyed it. It's a Spanish movie, and I watched the dub (which is what Netflix defaulted to - I was too lazy to change it); I think that contributed a little to the sense of disorientation. It's violent at times, occasionally stomach-churning, but as much philosophical as scary.

I read about it on here and decided to give it a go. Told my Spanish other-half that it's supposed to be very good and thought she'd really enjoy it. The dirty look I got when it finished.... Interesting concept but thought it completely fell apart towards the finale.

    Yes and no.
It is a bizarre watch. I didn't 'enjoy' it but found it was worth watching, its kinda strange, possibly a bit more of a niche watch than a mainstream one.
It did fall away toward the end, as mentioned, but still, the bizarreness meant I had to watch it.

    Clear as mud :pac:

Nearly finished Ep2 of Tiger King. Bonkers is being reserved. Fascinating watch. Up there with Abducted in plain sight which up to now was the most bat**** story I've ever heard.

Cube is the most useful reference point for The Platform, in that it has a small cast and closed, claustrophobic locations, and the story is about putting a handful of characters into stressful, sometimes intolerable circumstances and examining how they respond.

I watched it with subtitles and thought it was pretty good. It helps if you don't go in expecting everything to be clearly explained or wrapped up by the end - it's not that kind of film, and will only frustrate you if that's what you're after.

Just finished Tiger King too and really enjoyed it, epitomises the craziness of the US sometimes.

What I do notice about programmes made over there are the interviews the authorities give in these things. It would be unheard of over this side of the pond.

Afaik It's released in the states at 3AM eastern standard time, so I think that's like less than 15 minutes away here in Ireland.

Tiger King, as already mentioned, is brilliant. So much to the story. And they have a huge amount of footage, and that really makes it. Otherwise, you wouldn't believe it!

Hey, just wondering ordering if anyone has any recommendations for 8yr olds? We've watched Godzilla, Godzilla King of Monsters, the 2 Pacific Rim and all Jumanji films over the last few weeks.

Just wondering if there's anything else on Netflix that would be along that lines. TIA

For anyone who's watched Tiger King, Joe Exotic is in one of the Louis Theroux episodes. I think the episode is called "America's most dangerous pets" .
