Says he, on social media. :D

    I’m an auld fella.
And compared to what the kids are sucked into this is very polite and sensible.

    And it’s not just SM.
The whole celebrity chasing, false life that goes with it.

Kids need to be kids, out experiencing new things, meeting friends, playing sports. Whatever.

At youngest lads parent teacher meeting I was complaining of him being out before school playing football and every other spare minute with a football. He said every other parent that has bern in has given out about phones and playstations, to count your lucky stars

One teacher asked my mother if my brother read alot at home as he was doing really well at school. Mother said he reads those " bloody auld comics" alot but the teacher said thats great, its all practice

Young lad reads football books at bedtime here. The comics are great. When my mother was a teacher she used to get some of the lads from farms to read the farmers journal . She didn't mind what it was as long as they were reading

Solid fuel range in the kitchen has burned out. Miss it big time now.

I see a nice oil one on donedeal at handy money, anyone here know is there much to go wrong with them that can’t be fixed reasonably??

Would be slow to buy a second hand solid fuel one after seeing the way our one went so fast in the end

H + F in Tipperary converted a cooker here to oil and we had it for twenty years after and gave very little trouble, I don't remember any big bills for it anyway, It used to run the central heating as well so got lots of use

Think they're the only crowd in the country that can service them?

We have an aga. It goes on kerosene. Get it serviced about twice a year for 85 euro. Got a bad fill of fuel a few months ago and it didnt go well for a while. Love coming down to a warm kitchen each morning. It heats the hot water too

There's something different about the aga, our neighbour has an oil fired aga and definitely had to be serviced more than ours

Spoke to the plumber. Have decided to leave it alone. Between travelling to collect it, buying it and any potential issues, I’d rather pay the big money for a new one from h and F. Have been thinking about it for a while, looking forward to having a warm kitchen again

Brian should (well everyone should) find this podcast interesting on how our mass produced modern bread making methods may have not the best interests of our gut health and ultimately brain health in mind.

Jim Farrell in Kyle Cookers and stoves in Bunclody is worth a ring. No fancy showroom or anything. Buying from him can be an alternative experience for the lady folk but generally a good bit cheaper and delivers nationwide.

I've just spent the last two hours on licence.ie trying to renew the dog licences and it has to be the most annoying site I've ever had the misfortune to come across. It totally refused to accept my eircode and had to do renew the dogs individually.

I'll be going to the post office in future:(

OH is just after coming from the office saying the same, she claims that the post offices won't be doing it after the end of the year,
She sent a complaint.....I'd say that'll be heeded alright

What happened yours, if you don’t mind me asking?

We have a solid fire one as well, and when it’s going it’s great. But I’m sorry I put it in, awful lot of messing with it and takes a while to get going...

As far as I can make out, you're only allowed one dog in each eircode? I renewed the yorkies licence on Friday and tried to renew the other two yesterday and today and I was allowed to use any eircode bar our own one.

That's why we got ours converted, a lot of dust in the kitchen as well

One in your name, one in your wife's name and one in your child's name?

I suppose it's one way of reducing the country's emissions.
