The Lincoln Project are absolute ghouls who paved the way for Trump and its absurd that people who call themselves leftwing are cheer leading for them.

Its not surprising that these scumbags have been able to find to many marks to grift , but its still nonetheless a pretty depressing sight.

They’re anti Trump republicans. Nobody is illusioned that they aren’t republicans, or that many if not all of them campaigned against a Hillary Clinton presidency.

I see you get your “grift” talking points from Ben Shapiro and Laura Ingraham too? No secret what media you’ve been adopting lately.

Lincoln Project founders are some of the worst people , Wilson, Kristol etc who have all played a big role in making a Trump presidency possible.

This is a grift nothing more than that and its somewhat depressing that people who claim they are left wing are lapping up.

I don't think I have ever watched much of Ingram so don't really want to comment on her, Shapiro is the worst of the worst. He has made millions dunking on teenagers while running from debates from anyone half serious. The Andrew Neil interview with him is political pornhub for me.

His neoconservatism politics blah blah free markets, overseas exceptionalism,,picking yourself by your bootstrap bollocks are all policies that the Lincoln Project have forced on the American people when they were in power and heh its a mystery we got Trump isn't it?

Its quite possible to believe Shapiro and The Lincoln Project are both abysmal and people should stop giving them money.

The same people Yesterday who were probably celebrating John ****ing Kasich speaking at the DNC.

Sure a lot of people helped get Trump elected and changed their minds, that’s allowed. Doesn’t make them grifters, it’s not like LP is begging me for money? Whereas people like Bolton are trying to get rich off books before they will testify in an impeachment trial. Now, that’s grifting. You using that word here makes me less than sure you know what it means - or them, Ben and Laura, for that matter.

The Lincoln Project exists to enrich its founders and heh if people want to make Ric Wilson even wealthier than he is go ahead, but don't claim you are left wing and swoon over their videos. (not saying you are, but plenty others elsewhere are)

These are very bad people who didn't merely vote Republican many were key members of Republican think tanks over last few decades which enforced Zombie Reganism on the nation.

Hopefully when Trump loses these people like him will **** off, but I do worry they will try and steer the Biden presidency to the right on certain issues such as foreign policy and Biden a hawk will be very susceptible to these ghouls.

Meh. You can certainly still be counted among the cultural left and still count the Lincoln Project as the enemy of your enemy.

Step one: get rid of Trump.

Everything after that will be dealt with in the fullness of time.

Of course, but the glee I see about their videos online all the time its a bit much.

I don't think either of us are going to budge to much on this, so will leave this debate for now. I am sure when they post their next viral video (probably tomorrow ) we can revisit. :o

I hope the Biden presidency is genuinely trailblazing because in 4 years you will get a version of Trump who is much more telegenic and certainly much more cunning.

It's as much the glee as they're fairly good at it, as it is amazing to see the strife under the GOPs big tent. I have never seen a party/side campaign this hard against their own incumbent POTUS, I've seen them primary their own congresspeople sure but this is a new level.

And Trumps "Executive Order" has no basis in Law - The President has no rights or authority to change how the Census works. It can only be done by congress.

It's pointless sabre rattling for his base.

I could go on all day and night about the 14th amendment, in particular, if anyone has any confusion about this point. It became a pastime after discovering most of my congressman’s most loyal constituents have apparently never read it, and had some very creative ideas about what they thought the constitution says that it really doesn’t. He hasn’t any leg to stand on with this, it is just red meat for the base: a way to make Trump look like he’s doing something about illegal immigration while earning a narrative against ‘activist liberal judges’ when they invariably issue injunction, which makes them even more supporting of the GOP drive to rubber stamp more and more Trump judiciary appointments.

+1 to this. Money from Republicans that might've gone to Republican causes, now goes to the Lincoln Project. And there are other anti-Trump Republican efforts out there like rvat.org and Meidas.

Indeed - The Biden campaign out fundraised the Trump campaign in each of the last 3 months , how much of that gap is down to formerly Republican money going to groups like the Lincoln Project instead of into the usual GOP PAC's?

Trumps campaign has already cost him a billion dollars. That’s money spent. To be this far behind.

That’s still not close to the total this election will be and it’s not even a quarter what was spent in 2016 all totaled up, which was about $6.5Bn but that’s still a lot of moola. But it still far outstrips what the spend was for his campaign in 2016, which was less than half that figure.

"I'm not Clinton" would be cheaper than "I'm not Biden"- the latter being a lot less divisive than the former I would imagine, in spite of Biden's deficiencies.

I didn’t get my text message.

Any who. Here’s also the complete context of Bidens remarks that Trump is the first truly racist President

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/watch-full-context-of-joe-biden-calling-trump-americas-first-racist-president/

I still think the remark is a stretch, and would have gone with the modern era. Even Bush didn’t vilify muslims or Arabs. I don’t know how racist FDR was toward the Japanese, either, or their internment. Everyone goes on the job with implicit biases but who acts on them?

Alot of the money he's raising is going in his own pocket or those of his businesses at least

The private donation money hes been begging and threatening for isn't being spent on the campaign at all but immediately siphoned in his direction.

Obama on Harris as VP: 'Joe Biden nailed this decision'

Hillary Clinton praises Kamala Harris running mate pick

CNN Suggests Joe Biden Could ‘Step Aside’ for Kamala Harris
Cilizza argued that Biden’s choice reflected confidence that he will win the election in November — but also suggested that he might not be able to do the job.

    He wrote (emphasis added):

At 55 years old, [Harris] represents a younger generation of leader — something that Biden, who will be 78 on Inauguration Day 2021, said was a major factor in his choice

What that all means is that Biden wants the race to be about him as little as possible.

    ….

What Biden did is make the pick that maximized his chances of continuing to make the race a straight referendum on Trump while also selecting someone, in Harris, whose resume suggests will be ready to step in if and when Biden decides to step aside.

    source

Opinion: Will picking Kamala Harris make a difference in the November election?

She is a centrist, like Biden. They share an overall philosophy, which is the most important criterion for choosing a potential successor. But most left-of-center progressives, despite some inevitable complaints, will find her an irresistible choice. She is a woman of color, with roots in Africa, India, the Caribbean. Her mother was born in India, her father in Jamaica. That means she is an American through and through; like pretty much all of us the product of immigration.

She would become the first woman vice president and she also has a very good shot at becoming president, not only because of Biden's age, but because she is now the automatic choice for his successor.

    source

Within 24 hours of her official selection the media are already talking about Kamala Harris being a "centrist" ready to "step in" for Joe Biden.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

The 'step in' is in reference to the fact he likely won't run for a second term. It's been pretty much assumed for months that the VP choice will be the most likely nominee 2024. So it's not exactly surprising that this is being discussed. Overall, it's an incredibly strong pairing where both Biden and Harris have massive name recognition.
