    She is a walking argument against freedom of speech.

    I'm mostly for freedom of speech but anyone spouting nonsense on her level should be sectioned for the public good.
    Or at the very least prosecutable for disseminating dangerous nonsense (anti-vax, chemtrails, "something in the water") sort of sh1te is actually dangerously stupid guff to be spouting out, without a shred of scientific, mathematical or logical reasoning or evidence.

    Retraction and public apology level, just the humiliation of having to stand up in public and admit she is full of sh1t. Then she can happily spin off back to anonymity and chain herself to a search engine or whatever it is she wants to do without attracting a crowd of cretins to make a public nuisance.

    Makes me wonder what her business plan is. Are her media followers just sadists watching her have an online mental breakdown for kicks, are they bots to bolster the numbers, or are they just people who follow her on the off chance that some day she might kick over a nest of hornets instead of just kicking piles of cowsh1te in a paddock full of crazy and stupid.

    Every news paper is writing about her. And they should. No its not feeding her. Its showing another angle. The correct one.

    I think its a a bad idea to speculate about her mental health for a few reasons

    A Its deeply personal and even verging on intrusive
    B It almost excuses her hate and bigotry

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Speculation? I think on this forum, that ship has long sailed Joey...

    When you forcefully expose your objectionable, dangerous, and scientifically questionable views in public you forfeit your right to privacy. Also, personality disorders don't excuse those beliefs, but they do contribute to a penchant for publicising them.

    The whole point of my post was that helping and/or treating Ms O'Doherty would be a very difficult undertaking.

    Yes, that was my point too - of course there's going to be lots of speculation on this forum. We're a bunch of people tossing around ideas, discussing them etc. That's what we do on forums. Hence my original wording:

    And I am giving my personal opinion as part of a discussion that I don't think think it's such a good idea. You can do what you want. I'm not saying you can't. Its just something I have a diffeeing opinion on.

    Yes. Agreed. It's like - ah you know she might be a far right racist fuelled bigot but its ok cause she's mentally ill. Thats part of the reason why I havent joined in to discuss her mental health. We need to be challenging her rhetoric not excusing it or minimising it.
