You're right. They are at least 5 years too old and that's a lot at that age. There must be young actors out there that would be perfect for this.

You would think Covid-19 will play havoc with every soap storyline. It's not just an elephant in the room, more like ten or twenty of them.

Whenever FC and the UK soaps return, they will have to have numerous references to the virus.

You'd wonder too what will happen with all the medical dramas on the BBC like Casualty, Holby City and Doctors.....it will be quite a dilemma.

The majority of the series is set after school and through their college years so I think it’s just for continuity.

Yes, the casting absolutely ruins what should be an excellent production. Difficult to take the relationship between Connell and his mam seriously when he looks older than her.

About three years ago Katy was released from her box. Could you imagine if she got released now and everywhere was closed and was going around in masks and gloves!

I can imagine Zara and Daniel and the rest of the staff in Doctors trying to deal to with it.

Derry Girls is similar. They are meant to be 16 and 17 year old's and they are played by people in there twenties into there thirties.

Keeping the FC thread alive via Normal People: see Sharon Curly /Ger in NP. Maybe she had her cancer treatment in Sligo and developed a Sligo accent there.

There’s been that much hype about that normal people thing that there’s surely a thread by now.
