Have a Samsung S8 with a battered smashed cracked rear glass that won't see me to end of 24 month contact September 2020. Front screen not too bad but 4 corners chipped & cracked.

What phone would be of similar standard to S8 I should be looking at?

Aside from calls, texts, WhatsApp use for browsing, odd file download, YouTube & camera.

I am ordering two to test EU Priority again (for the final time for me).

One EU priority to see if it has improved at all
    and
Normal with Tariff Insurance to make sure it gets here.
    https://www.banggood.com/marketing-Ulefone-Armor-X5-Phone/tid-5356.html
Both phones shipped within a minute of each other on the 1st of November and there had been no tracking available until today.
They were both shipped using PostNL and similar tracking numbers.

On the Banggood website they appear different.
EU Priority shows it is in PostNL Sorting Centre - https://i.imgur.com/rTPDQ6s.png
Normal Shipping shows it as in transit (no logistics) - https://i.imgur.com/HCCXXoq.png

    However..
Trackingmore.com shows they are both identical except for the tracking number. (It shows the same on PostNL site)

    EU Priority version - https://i.imgur.com/OueufWk.png
    Air Parcel Register - https://i.imgur.com/j0q0UvA.png
So it looks like they are now using the exact same method for both (up to this point), with EU Priority version costing $5 more.
EU Priority to Ireland must have been scrapped, or was for this shipment, unless the EU Priority one does a loop of Europe like they used to.

Are you mixing up tarriff and shipping insurance?

    What do you mean?

I ordered two phones same time. I have ordered plenty of items using their EU priority shipping in the past, and it pretty much has always been terrible, so I order normal shipping and pay tariff insurance (if it gets stopped and I have to pay, they will refund the vat).
I also find that way much faster. But relatively recently I have seen a few people using EU Priority and it arriving on time. I searched a few forums and found one post that said they have changed it for the better and it seems to be working again.
So I tried it (again). But it seems they are now just using the same method now for both.
But. That is not a great guage, because they were preorders, which I hadn't paid attention to when ordering.
So I might still be reluctant to use EU priority, and normal with tariff insurance still seems to be the better option anyway, unless they get stopped. But I doubt it.

No, sorry I meant that I was using normal shipping to make sure it gets here, and I paid tariff insurance.
EU priority has often disappeared on me, and then stuck with a two month wait before they will refund if that happens.

Hi guys just a general question about buying from anything from China. Ireland is a very expensive country to buy most goods and even food so if I could buy everything from China I would! I notice that in Ireland you rarely get free shipping from ebay and UK sites, whereas in the UK you would as standard usually. If you buy from China on aliexpress etc or EU based warehouse china sites the shipping is either free or no more than it would cost if you were having it posted to the UK. Is this why buying from China is now so popular, and is it taking over in popularity to buying on ebay thus cutting out the middle man?

    Probably.
Often you get items on ebay charging ridiculous amounts for shipping. €10 - €25 shipping for an lcd screen for example from the UK.

Personally, If I need something quickly and it's not available on the Chinese EU Warehouse sites, or is expensive to fasttrack it from China, I look at Spain and Germany.
    Or Amazon.
Germany shipping is usually cheaper than many sellers from UK, and Spain usually has stock from China anyway for a low price.
I would rarely look on ebay anyway, as I also find it a bit of a mess.

    Both phones arrived today.

So I think I will stick with normal shipping and tariff insurance.

I wonder if normal shipping and no tariff insurance would be the same result, and they only have the tariff insurance option as a way to get a few extra bucks.

Probably but Tariff insurance is only around $3, and well worth the peace of mind imo.

good price if u dont mind the wait and chancing customs

    Hi,
    How much would customs be?
Anyone ordered this? Decent price but see the note-
    If
you aren't OK with spending this money on this type of site then please don't, there may be extra charges and long waits as well. Always a risk with these kinds of purchases, so do think thoroughly before diving in.

Pay by credit card or PayPal, and ideally have an bank account that covers warranty on Grey imports

Like I say, I really wouldn't go through with this purchase, unless you are 100% certain you can accept there may be issues.

Depends on what the hardware is and what sort of updates it has. There are still a couple of Android 6 phones that update to 8 and I am sure 7 that will update to 9.

So depending on the price and the hardware... Could be a decent buy.
