Weather looking good for Sunday - 5 degrees for the 9am starts.

Wind is thankfully only 8mph & it is from the North (normally westerly), so will be cold, but not in your face going through the park.

I don't want the wind in my face on any part of the course lol

What pubs do people recommend to head to after the marathon?

The majority of Boardsies go to McGrattans.

The Protocol is for you to either walk around and introduce yourself as the Big Green or stand on the table and shout - "I'm the Big Green"

    :D

Is McGrattans the one just off Baggot Street, down the alley?

    Yep, Fitzwilliam Lane

Hearing headphones are totally banned this year, hope they actually follow through with this and DQ anyone who breaks this rule. Just mark them down as DQ'd at the finish line and don't give them a medal if they have headphones hanging out of them when they go to collect their medal

I wrote a very detailed guide for getting to McGrattan's after the marathon for the novices thread a couple of years ago - the information is still accurate :)

Agree totally but can’t see it happening to be honest, be a lot of DQ’s i’d say.

On a far more important note, can anyone tell me if there’s any decent beer available in McGrattans or is it the usual bog standard Heineken, Bud, Guinness etc?

Security guard was walking up to me at the back entrance as I approached and I put my phone to my ear and started shouting that there wasn't enough barriers out on the Crumlin road and somebody had better sort it..... He left me alone as I walked in:D

    Accuweather says 17km/h NNE direction.

Bit too blustery for my liking.

    Hi everyone

I’m running in wave 3 this year starting at 9.30am. The race info says to be at the wave no later than 8am is this correct? Not so nice to sit around in the freezing cold for an hour and a half before the race starts

I don't think they mean to be in the corral by 8am, its more that you will need to filter in through the bag drop area to get to the corrals, and with 20000 people arriving it can be quite a queue to get in past that point. Its better to get there early and relax than to arrive later and find yourself late because you are stuck behind thousands of other people who didn't want to wait about either.

I'm also wave 3. I'll be looking to get in there for around 9ish.

Think people were saying to be there around 15-20 minutes before start of wave

They are asking for bags to be dropped by 8.30 at the latest.
