From the video footage it looks like the fire hoses can't reach the fire at that height. I suppose they'll be sending firemen in to tackle this one. Good luck to them all.

    What a bizarre comment.

    Not really.

Are people just foaming at the mouth to blame da gubberment?

Loads of tweets from various political members going on about emergency accommodation families.

What about other people in the hotel?

That's what confused me, like saying there is a mother of five on whatever floor.
    Grandfather of many else where.

Because when things like this happen, the bleeding hearts come out of the woodwork.

Presumably they'll have homes to go back to whereas the homeless families will have to source another place to live and homeless accommodation is scarce in Dublin at the moment. Just a guess like.

And will possibly have lost all their belongings unlike the guests or staff

Could be single homeless men and women too?

But families are more juicy for the outrage.

Its not part of the hotel, they are the private apartments beside it.

apparently it's not spreading too badly, so not in the same league as Grenfell thankfully.

    Airport could close.

eh it looks like a very serious fire as in the whole building will be gutted, just seen footage on rte 1 news, hope everyone is out as for started at 07:30pm in the upper floors according to the rte new report.

Why would the airport close? Its no where near the runways??

Ffs it's never ending with you.

A poster wrongly thought the hotel was being used as a stop gap for people in emergency accommodation.

No one implied that they are or are not any less important than anyone else.

Stop with the dole bashing/scrounger implying agenda. It's fcuking booooooring.

They should have as the flats went to 14 floors.

They never had units that could reach the upper levels of the Towers, fires in the flats and towers back then were ****ing scary experiences.

Hopefully there are no lives lost and we can have a full investigation into building standards in this country because we don't want to have to it after a load of funerals

    Agree here.

How builders got away with putting up shoeboxes is unforgivable.

    Noone held accountable.
