    Who is going? Free event.

    DRWLfw8X4AId-_y.jpg

I've ordered two. I won't be showing up so suggest everyone do the same.

11am on a Friday, wonder who the target audience is.

I was going to mock this post until I read it properly. Great Idea.

I actually can't think of a worse use of my time.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

So you won’t be showing up, yet you’ve ordered tickets and are promoting it for free on this website?

John Waters and Nigel Farage together in one building... we can always hope something positive comes from this, like them being trapped in a fire

Make sure to order two tickets so. One of them is a Galway cllr who wants the goverment to build a Luas down there. Might need some EU money for that.

    Genius.

Love this bit in the Terms and Conditions:
Unwelcome interjections from the audience may result in removal from the event.

In other words, "shut up and listen! But if you have any valid counter arguments to make, we will remove you."

Also, they fecked up the address to book tickets on the flyer so I doubt any of their targeted audience will have the mental fortitude to correct it.

To be (annoyingly pedantic) shouldn't it be "EirExit"?

Just booked two tickets under a name that doesn’t exist and an email address that has existed for all of two minutes. It would be brilliant to see their seating list full of ‘Mr Homer Simpson’ and ‘Mr Bright Side’.

    Why bother booking tickets?

The cause is a non-starter. The mild anti-EU feeling from the bailout years was probably the highest we've ever had, and even that never amounted to a will to leave properly (more just the Euro). Not a chance.

Well For a start this union doesn't have the peoples consent,in fact theyve gone about it very sneakily,re-votes on referendums that don't go the EU's way etc,I think the cornerstone of any democracy is people being able to choose were they are ruled from,by who and who make laws for them,I prefer my politicians directly elected and directly accountable to the people. Its getting increasingly authoritarian as they push for this radical utophia "superstate"

I could go on but I'll be here arguing with idiots all day who'll claim that we would still be wrapped in a bit of rag and hunting with spears if it wasn't for the EU "Shur they gave us roads"

Quite the contrary,I've been doing a lot of reading into the EU ever since the Lisbon re-vote I'd suggest others do the same,it's not the benign organisation with noble aspirations it makes out to be

Just because people don't agree with you doesn't make them idiots.
Same could be said about someone with your mindset.
I don't agree with your thinking and you only have to look at Brexit to see how big a shambles leaving the bloc is.
We would lose a serious amount of investment, grants, a market of almost half a billion people.
What plan could you see the government having which would let us continue receiving the countless billions the government already gets?
There are plans to start building the metro in a few years, the eu will help fund this for example.
We were bailed out by the eu, I can't imagine how much worse it would have been if we weren't an eu member.

Is the 2% of our GDP to go to that EU army or is that fake news?

I would imagine that would have quite the bearing on our love affair with the boys and girls in Brussels.

We can categorically say that we would not have the current infrastructure that we have in place if it were not for the EU. We'd have a limited trade zone, most of our multinational companies and banks would not have bases here. This isn't being an idiot, this is the reality.

It's a defence fund, currently neither the US or UK can be trusted in the event of a country such as Russia kicking off. So it's better to be prepared than not.

Ah yes, the Treaty of Lisbon, that was completely gutted and renegotiated to Ireland's wishes.

It's funny, the moment someone uses the argument of the Lisbon treaty you know it's going to be a terribly weak debate.
