just because he is irish dont expect him to be any better than most other prize fighters that have made millions, have a huge entourage following them around and get up to all sorts of mischief. most end up broke as well, holyfield and tyson lost bigger fortunes than mcgregor although on the face of it he is smarter than either (he basically conceived and executed the whole mayweather thing)

Oustide of the fight Saturday the incident has so many other wider reaching consequences. Like if Rose fights Saturday not feeling 100% and loses, her purse for her next fight gets drastically reduced by virtue of the fact she isn't champion anymore. The Khabib fight? Well, to fit in with my other tinfoil hat theory above - the UFC can't afford him currently. He's asking for too much. Hence why they haven't scheduled any fight. Although he's clearly training regularly to be in fighting shape...

This is the sort of incident that will drive down his bargaining power. If the above theory is true, Dane will be secretly happy once the dust settles.

Yeah have to say the UFC are potentially really open to legal proceedings here if people are planning on sueing anyone.

The guys walked into the place with ease. That could've been any gang of lunatics. But what's more, this gang of eejits were KNOWN to be coming, and were likely to be upset about one of their eejits getting cornered the night before in a hotel.

Naive in the extreme from UFC. And questions will be asked - how did this happen? From a security and safety point of view.
