The conveyor belt of talent is great to see, the ladies really are propelling themselves foward at every level. The sheer quantity of girls/women now playing in Cork is at an all time high and we are reeping the rewards.

Have we any chance tomorrow night?

I know it's hard to say at this level of course but anyone think what we could expect?

I feel like the minor has lost its interest since it went U17. Feels the same as any of the other underage competitions now, u14, u15 etc. There's not the same buzz when you see the team and think who could possibly make a step up next year and maybe make the senior team. They're too young.

I have two stand tickets for the game on Sunday going for free. They are for the North stand and are side by side.
They are in pdf format so I can email them. All I want in return is a guarantee that they will be used.
    Pm me if intersted.
    Edit: these have been taken.

Niall O’Leary to make senior hurling championship debut for Cork at corner back on Sunday, part of U21 team last year and UCC Fitzgibbon Cup winner this year. 13 of starting side from Limerick loss last July, Tim O’Mahony at centre-back the other inclusion.

Brave calls in defense - good to see another UCC Fitzgibbon winner coming through
No shortage of pace up front

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,296 ✭✭✭Horse84

Jamie coughlan and mikey cahalane still on the panel? Is Ellis gone too?

    For the absences,
Alan Cadogan isn't fit enough yet. Defenders Colm Spillane and Mark Ellis have both been long-term absentees, though Ellis returned to training and he will be eased back into the set-up.Another injury victim, Michael Cahalane, has had an operation for an Achilles injury and he’s a number of weeks away from being back in the equation. McDonnell is in the subs so he is just getting back too. This was the article this info was got from. That was on 5/3/19 which is the last info I heard although maybe someone has an update.

Big call to put Cadogan in full back ,tipp will isolate him and look to expose his lack of pace.Huge pressure on Hoggy and harnedy as usual to carry us .I think it will be a close game but our backs will be doing well to contain tips forwards.

up to Harnedy to win every puck out again though.

We generally do fine on puck outs in the first 45 / 50 minutes when the front eight are fresh and the movement is good. The difference this year will hopefully be the likes of Dalton and Walsh off the bench being options in the second half when Meade and Kearney are exhausted and we need a big body.

Happy to see Niall O’Leary in. He’s been outstanding for Imokilly and UCC in the last couple of years. First exposure to senior inter county against Tipp on championship is a big ask though.

I think the biggest factor on Sunday will be the pitch. If it stays firm it will allow cork to play the fast game which will overwhelm tipp, if it starts to cut up and slow things down it will suit tipp

If it doesnt stay firm in May after weeks of nice enough weather then Cork should be made loose.

Croke Park had a issue for 2 or 3 years

I think that problem was a mix of artificial and natural grass.

This doesn't mean it will be fine for the whole game but from this recent tweet the pitch looks well.
