he was marking jake morris who scored 3 points form play , he cleaned him in the first half and but for the lack of support in the seccond half he might have kept him scorless

We did well to come back but we need to be far more cute when defending. For the second Tipp goal, Mellerick needs to drag the player whos running through down. Take the yellow card ffs.

That doesn't mean he had a bad game last night or the cork back line hasn't Improved

To be fair it seams like your back tracking after a series of drunken posts in the early hours of the morning ,

The main thing is to make it out of the group, but it would be nice to have a Cork v Tipp Munster final. 2006 was when we last had one after all. People will have this down as Cork arrogance and all, but Cork v Tipperary is the real Munster final imo. That's the stories we listened to when growing up, hearing about all those epic battles with Tipperary in years gone by and the wonderful sense of magic attached to any Cork v Tipp Munster final.

The wind had an effect, quite a few shots falling short,. Our forwards are struggling to get into the game.

Happy to be only a point down.

Clare well on top since HT, leading 1-14 to 0-9 after 45 min

Shocking second half. Forwards not winning any ball at all. Clares defence totally on top and they look really hungry all over. Lost count of the times we have ran tbe ball into trouble. We look very pedestrian. Our tactics seem off in this half

Disappointing 2nd half but cant be critical given the circumstances. Clare deserving winners

Clare were much more up for it , hunted in packs and keeping us scoreless for the first 15 of the second half was enough to create daylight between the teams.

We did get in alot of blocking which was good to see. Our forwards received poor enough ball and were marked very tightly.

Barry O'Flynn had to come out to the 40 and nearly into midfield to get some ball.

Barry Walsh is a lovely hurlers altogether.

Congratulations Clare - the better team by a distance. Their defence, harrying and determination was top class.

Cork, on the other hand were dreadful. Disjointed, poor handpassing, running in to the tackle to get easily blocked and hooked, terrible shot choice. Basics were missing. Really disappointing.

lads, yes we were off tonight but remember they are only u17s playing in difficult circumstances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,766 ✭✭✭The White Feather

What were the difficult circumstances? Did something happen? Sorry if its common knowledge but I don't know anyway

The minutes silence at the Tip game Saturday was for Barry Walsh's dad who passed away. Ben Walsh, Captain was also his nephew.

I had no idea. Somehow missed this completely. That's very tough for them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,666 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Yes they are better than that. Last night can be well excused.

    Are they still in championship?

Or maybe Clare is just better. They did beat Cork by 5pts earlier in the championship

Not taking anything away from Clare. Better than won on night. Simple.
