Footballers draw the Munster champions, Leinster runners up and Mayo

Awful draw. Can’t see us winning any of those games

    Kerry, Mayo, Louth and ourselves.

3rd place teams qualify I think, so basically, beat Louth to qualify.

Mayo blow hot and cold. Kerry will probably be our annual loss to them.

All the eggs in the basket for the Louth game, not sure they would have wanted us.

Hopefully we'll be competitive against Kerry and Mayo at the very least, and Louth with their blanket defence will be a tough nut to crack as well imo.

not sure what capacity is now as I think there were safety issues when Munster played South Africa and they are not going to fill the terraces afaik

so much for "best of luck in the rest of the munster championship , go on and beat kerry in the final " i taught ye were the most gracious supporters in the country , should ye not be rubbing yer hands at getting revenge against louth in week one and clare in flower lodge the weekend after ....😂

Cork letting this game slip after a fast start.

I'd love to see Clare win, but i just don't see it sadly. Anyway Cork 4-19 Tipperary 2-25, seeing that we were losing with minutes to go i'll take the draw! We were five points down with about ten minutes to go as well. We should hopefully be through to the all Ireland series if we beat ye up in Ennis.

Great comeback. Tipp left us off the hook. Some of the mistakes we made to cough up scores has to be cut out out though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

Tipp to be fair were probably the better team, but credit to our lads for digging out the draw. We have two tough road trips to Ennis and Limerick up next. That point we gained this evening will hopefully prove to be very valuable for us.

Coming out of the ground my initial reaction is ref rode us mercilessly... I'll have to watch it back but the head high stuff, robbing Hoggies hurley, pushes in the back, he blew for nothing

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

We scored four goals, but we indeed coughed up plenty of chances to Tipp as well. This has been an issue for Cork teams over the last few years though. Well organised and strong defences win all Irelands, and we haven't had that since when the 2003-2006 Cork team was in its pomp. We won't win any all Ireland until this problem is rectified imo.

Ref drove me mad. He didn't give us much and kept giving frees against us. I thought you could easily see red cards for Tipp in the first and second half but he only gave yellows. Then he actually made the correct decision with Daltons free to equalise so I went phew!

A point for Tipp in the first half looked wide as well so we need Hawkeye!

For all that about the ref, I thought we were gone at one stage but they came back well. I really did think we would get goals with our forwards but it was our subs that pushed us back to get level I thought. Tipp should really have seen it out as they were just slightly on top throughout. We needed this game also as the game against Waterford was so easy that it was hard to guage. It will really bring us on. This draw shows me that we have a good team in the making, We should have been beaten but somehow battled back. A few tweaks here and there to cut out a few silly things and we will be well on the way.

    Totally agree.

The one positive I take away from today is that the old cork teams were beaten today. But to get a point is encouraging but we have improve it be 50% to even give limerick a match

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,276 ✭✭✭Cork2021

It showed as well that we actually have a squad now. A bench that make a difference. With a few still missing like O Donoghue to come back, possibly Coleman.

    ref was poor

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,193 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

Whoever is saying the ref rode Cork - it was 12 frees each. Embarrassing

  • Registered Users Posts: 104 ✭✭hurlaway

Ref let the the Cork away with holding the spare arm a lot almost seemed like a tactic

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,193 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

We can all pick out little things. Plenty on both sides. Cork use of steps at times was ridiculous. Ref was fine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,605 ✭✭✭giveitholly

How many steps did flynn take for his goal? Alan Tynan blatantly chopped down before that goal in front of the Cork goals

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭Straight Talker

This is the Cork thread and to be honest people can be as biased and as blinkered as they want. If that offends some people then you really shouldn't be here imo.

People can be blinkered and biased and people can make different points. Surely that’s the point of a discussion thread

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,605 ✭✭✭giveitholly

So because he was fouled according to you that allows him to take as many steps as he likes. I suppose Tynan wasn't fouled either?

If you think that irrelevant stat means the ref didn't ride us or didn't blow for a blatant red plus more, it just shows you are a Tipp clown. Head back to your own thread willa.
