The minutes silence at the Tip game Saturday was for Barry Walsh's dad who passed away. Ben Walsh, Captain was also his nephew.

I had no idea. Somehow missed this completely. That's very tough for them

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,070 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Yes they are better than that. Last night can be well excused.

    Are they still in championship?

  • Registered Users Posts: 905 ✭✭✭Vinnie222

Or maybe Clare is just better. They did beat Cork by 5pts earlier in the championship

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,070 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Not taking anything away from Clare. Better than won on night. Simple.

Cork play the Leinster champions either Kilkenny or Galway, which is on 12/5.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,172 ✭✭✭big_drive

Any word on Sean O'Donoghue for the hurlers injury wise?

He would be some addition to things at moment

  • Registered Users Posts: 392 ✭✭Innish_Rebel

Or on that - any news on Robbie O'Flynn's injury against Tipp?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,171 ✭✭✭realdanbreen

What's the preference in Cork re the Waterford Clare game at the weekend. A win for Waterford or for Clare?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,504 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Sean O'Donoghue should be available in time for Clare but Robbie had a hamstring injury so it's unlikely he will be back in time. Then again he recovered very quickly from the ankle injury so keep fingers crossed!

Fine start by the minors - 10 gone and they are 5 points to no score up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,091 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 1-5 to 0-4 after 18 min, goal from a penalty

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,683 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Sheedy at 11 is bossing this game. Cork playing quite well and fully deserving of their 2 point ht lead

Defenders are touch tight and getting in a few good blocks.

Forwards should have had a couple more scores and they need them as Kerry came onto the game well approaching ht.

Nice to see that we can put the ball over the bar - against the wind - from between the 30 and 40 - somerthing the U20's seemed abysmal at.

    Cork 1-8 Kerry 0-9 HT.

Sheedy with a BULLET to the top corner - what a finish, 4 up.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,683 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    A fine win.

Nearly every defender got a yellow - they were never allowing a Kerry player get a sight on the goal.

Sheedy is a gem of a player.

It's always nice to beat them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,504 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Great win alright! Sheedy the best player on the pitch. What was interesting is that we played like the Kerr Seniors and they played like the Cork Seniors. We were tigerish in the tackle and took some great scores. The second goal was a rocket. They were huffing and puffing going lateral a lot just like our Seniors!

Good to see a Cork football team getting stuck into the opposition

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,091 ✭✭✭zetecescort

did well to see it out but were under pressure for most of the 2nd half, gave the ref every opportunity to give frees to Kerry with some sloppy tackling

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,504 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Hang on, I just see the both teams go through anyway to the semi finals. What a pointless game.

Cork play Tipp in Thurles next week and Kerry play Limerick

But any dat you beat Kerry is a good day.

i had no idea either like one or two above , hes late father narrowly missed out on the big one in the early 90s i have no doubt his sons one day will rectify it

its too early to be criticizing players at this level they are too young , but fair play them two young lads thats serious attitude at such a young age , some really good lads on that cork side , galway look the best in the country at this level though very impressive but all about development

Great goal from Mullins, we lead 1-7 to 0-6 after 15min

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,091 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 1-11 Clare 0-10 HT. we have looked very good at times but got sloppy the last 5 min or so, let Clare back into it. could have had a 2nd goal only for a goal line clearance from a Clare defender. our puck outs are not going great

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,504 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Really good half of hurling by both teams. Some great interplay from Cork and we probably should be further than 4 points ahead but we will have the wind in the second half now.

What I hate to see is fellas screaming in the faces of the opposition when they get a free or a decision, I have seen Clare do it but I'm sure we are doing it too. Not just this game but everywhere. Wish the GAA stamped this out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,091 ✭✭✭zetecescort

all Clare after HT, they lead by 2 after 35min

its like Clare have a couple of extra players, they have upped the gears and we havent responded. we are second to the breaking ball
