Footballer just about got the job done in the end. Westmeath ran out of steam in the last 15 mins and had left behind 2 or 3 goals by that point. Defensive performances over the league are a cause for concern.

Cracking 5th goal for Cork, counter attacking at its best

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,407 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Great excitement at the end of that game!

    The ladies won it!

    Cork 5-10 Donegal 3-13

    Delighted for the ladies.

The lads came from behind at ht to win by 6, staying up at least.

Half time in the Ladies football and its 3-05 for both teams! Goals flying in. Both defences look wide open.

In the Allianz Football League Div 2 Relegation Playoff

    It finished

    Cork 3-22 Westmeath 0-25

    So phew!!

Its poor a county like Cork is trying to survive a div 2 playoff and delighted we stay up. Is this the standards we are willing to except in Cork?

    Who's delighted?

Relieved, yes. Losing today would not have been good.

    We are where we are.

Put 100 on Cork to win the hurling all Ireland today. Surely they can't let me down again? Put 100 on them every year on the basis they are the top county, and must surely win it soon? 15 years or so is unbelievable for Cork not to win one. 15 years!!!!

Does anyone know if the Cork v Galway game today is live on the TG4 YouTube channel? I know it's live on the TG4 app but that isn't much use if you want to want to watch it on a computer screen (and I do).
    Thanks.

Open to correction but I think the games marked as available on the app are also available on the TG4 player website on desktop.

    We are where we are.

Still it's not good enough, when we see our neighbours Kerry and the level they are at now. Why aren't Cork anywhere near this level. Kerry are getting better every year. Cork are pretty much getting worse every year. We have the clubs we have the players, where is it all going wrong? I would say management selection and the inability of personalle in this county to coach and teach football properly is the main concern. RMC is useless and the fact that Cork supporters are happy to keep him in command says enough really. If this happened in Kerry he be killed and thrown out. That's why.

There are spells of being up and spells of being down, that's sport.
Should we be better? Yes. Are we? No.

Why are we not near the level of Kerry? History points to them being better the vast majority of time, so not sure why you even mention them.

We've had ups and downs and currently we are down. That happens. Ask Cavan fans, I'm sure they would agree to the same thing. Just like us, they will improve and get back to a level they believe they should be, at some stage too.

Blame game? Easy to point the finger all the time rather than give give ideas like who the right man for the job would be.

No idea if I'm honest, I'm sure someone will tell us.

Normally, you would expect to see a few players coming through. Where are those players now? Making it at u20 level does not mean they will make it senior inter county of course.

Yes it is live on the TG4 player link here:https://www.tg4.ie/en/player/watch-live/home/

History is History and now is now. Why are Cork so bad now? Good to see the 5 year plan is working well in Cork. If Cork had lost yesterday we be better off staying in div 3 with the bad state of affairs with football in the county. Very good Cork sides couldn't win more than 1 All Ireland. Is that ever going to change?

And the future is the future!

We'll have to wait and see.

I know u20 is a different level but even years when Kerry have a week team they still get one or two players from the team where cork might win even munster and still no player comes trough

I seem to remember Kerry winning 4 or 5 minor All Irelands in a row at one stage, but not winning an u21 at all in the following years, sometimes success doesnt relay success., but a lot of them, I presume, are seniors now.

We won 1 u20 but we should see some of them involved in fairness, I'm sure there are a few on the panel, but dont know so for sure..

Half time and Cork lead Galway 2-12 to 0-12

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,034 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Going well but game is very open, cant see us getting all this space in championship.

We really have focused on finding the net more. Unreal amount of goals scored compared to previous years.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,407 ✭✭✭The White Feather

App kinda jumped as they got a goal but it looked like Collins should have saved it when it didn't go across him

Bit of a poxy goal for Galway, has us level with 20 to go.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,407 ✭✭✭The White Feather

This looks like a practice match with so much space.

Cork were 7 points up and now its level. The marking is way too loose

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,034 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Level at the water break. 2nd Galway goal a lucky one, forward was half hooked and the ball wrong footed Collins

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,407 ✭✭✭The White Feather

A lot of old failings here. They are getting scores way too easily whereas we are working really hard for ours.

They just got a goal and our marking has been non existent. They have got around 5 points from their puckouts where a Galway player catches it unopposed and runs a bit and puts it over. I don't think any other team lets teams score that easy.

Our attack looks good but defensive failings really on display here today. We have gone from 7 points up to 4 points down.

7 up to lose by 5, lost our way completely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,407 ✭✭✭The White Feather

6 points up at half time and end up losing by 5 points.

Today felt like a step forward and 2 steps back

Conceded 3-13 in the second half, a cricket score.

What's poxy about it? Can't be making excuses. Same old failings with Cork GAA. Snap defeat out of the jaws of victory. We aren't going to be in the business end of championship anyway that's being confirmed today. Terrible weekend for Cork GAA.
