Just out of interest what would happen in such a situation if the ball did go wide?

I'd trust our lads to fist it over the bar from five yards out, let's hope we don't mess it up though :(

No chance of it coming to this anyway
And Cian o Neill has his excuse for defeat already so everyone will be happy

Game declared a draw, goes straight to a 'free kick shootout'. Mayo players keep taking them until one of them scores...

Wonder what would happen if they kept missing them in solidarity with Kildare. Would put everybody in a nice little pickle :)

Ah sure if we went out there to intentionally miss them, the first one would go straight over the bar

It is a smart card he's played.

A desperate one too? It was a stroke of genius from him personally.

You reckon? Absolute humiliation for either side if they back down now, they've both left no wiggle room at all.

Surely one half in Kildare and then at half time everyone goes to Croke Park for the second half is the only practical solution now .

Is there room in the calendar for it to be pushed back a week if a resolution isn't found before Saturday?

Both sides have really dig their heels in.

Fourth round is weekend of 7th July

Quarter final 1 is the following weekend

    No room for postponment.

Kildare wont be backing down here lads. We deserve our home game and well be togged out in St Conleths. We already hosted Mayo in the league this year with no issues.

All ticket affair.. can hold 10k. 5k tickets each. Rule 42 says no preference to season ticket holders when there are capacity issues.

When the number of season tickets exceeds the capacity. This is not the case here. So season ticket holders would get tickets but no guarantee of seats. But I think that our season tickets should come out of our half of the tickets to make things fairer. This is what happens for all ireland finals - season tickets means the county allocation is smaller.

    9020
Reduced by 10% for all ticket
    So 8000 approx
    That's 20% less ..............
5k tickets each ? They go on general sale
Not sure Kildare get 5k at matches anyway ........

    No it wasn't.

There certainly wasn't space for 8\10000 more !
Mustn't have been too many from Kildare at it either ..........

I see the GAA saying they're not budging, but surely they'll have pressure from Sky to sort this out? It's in no ones interests to have a walkover. There would probably be grounds for refunds on tickets also?

I reckon Kildare will cave but will be well compensated for doing so.

If it ends up in Newbridge that's the logical choice. Give the ST holders their tickers and the remainder of the capacity goes on general sale albeit it will be a small number.

Any thing to be said for the double header to be in Semple? Any hurling on Saturday?

Why would you bring Tyrone and Cavan fans all the way to Thurles?

Press conference this evening by Cian o Neil. Kildare backing down you would think. Gough confirmed as ref.

Will mayo have to much for Kildare or could this galvanize Kildare?
