Yes it's not ideal because they'll get booed at every game from them on

I actually laughed out loud. This is comedy gold.

This has put Mayo in a very awkward situation not of their doing. If they turn up in Croke Park they will be the most hated team in the country.

They might be the most hated team on the internet for five minutes maybe but cooler heads will respect a team which goes about its business in a dignified manner and honours its fixtures.

If HQ holds firm with Croke Park and KCB stay with Newbridge... where does Aido sign autographs???

Honestly hope it is played in Newbridge now
Hope they kick up such a fuss next time they are “forced”’to concede home advantage in the Leinster championship

Will set a big precedent for the super 8s though
Donegal Management watching on Eagle Eyed

This is about a lot more than Kildare/Mayo. The GPA have backed Kikdare tonight. There's a clear message going to be sent out here to the fat cats in Croker in the corporate boxes eating their prawn sandwiches with senior Sky executives, and that message is -Amateur players who carry the organisation on their backs won't be blackguarded for short sighted advertising revenue and to honour TV contracts that the grass roots didn't want and that prevented ordinary people watching these games at home....and then play the bullsh1t H&S card as if people r fools when they had us in that ground for all the league games....Up the Revolution & Up Kildare!!!

If you don't think the answer is Kildare then you are way wrong.

Wouldn't be a great match for the neutral.

We could do an open training session at 7 next Saturday in Croker and then a meet and greet with the player's in Quinns afterwards. Might be able to grab a selfie with Aidan myself, could be a great night out lads.

Would not surprise me one iota with the speed tickets were released and Sky promotional material if there were shenanigans prior to the morning draw.

Where were the GPA when Wicklows game was moved from Aughrim due to H and S ?

    Prior to the draw ?
To ensure mayo got drawn away to a div1 team ?
Jesus they are all out tonight

Not sure how mayo have become the bad guys in all of this .......maybe Mayo should turn up in Croke Park but kick the ball over our own bar just to make sure the neutrals don’t boo us next year

What happens exactly if Kildare fail to show up? Does the match actually start without them?

There is more chance of me kicking the winning point than Kildare not turning up

Aido slips in Quinns and breaks both wrists. I'll be playing midfield come the Super 8s.

well the difference is Wicklow released a statement saying 'we're disappointed '... Kildare are saying 'F**k this - no way'

If they turn up, they'll look like fools after that statement and O'Neill's interview.

Not to say it definitely won't happen but why would they nail their colours to the mast like that and then do a U-turn?

Unless, the GAA can find a way to make them back down and come out a little better before Saturday. It will take one well written PR statement and spin.

It's crazy to think some people wanted us to go the easy route. What would we be doing with ourselves with these qualifiers.

Yeah, Cian O’ Neil came out so forceful that it’s very hard to see him backing down and at the same time saving any face

Well if they dont turn up I would say you have every chance in the world :-) If the game does have to start it would be nice to kit out one of the 1951 team and let him score the winning point.

Just visualize taking frees against Limerick, be grand :)

It would be curious to see how many Mayo fans would actually pay in if it was clear Kildare weren't going to show. Because as far as I am aware, Mayo will have to show up and kick a score unless there is an official cancellation of the match.

Prayers to the ticket office if they don't show, there will be some amount of refunds to be processed.

Just out of interest what would happen in such a situation if the ball did go wide?
