When the super 8s were announced
    It was one neutral
    One home
    One away

It has been taken as a given by the GAA that Croke Park will be accepted by all
Maybe it will maybe it won’t

And if it won`t then the powers that be will again us their baloney of health and safety to force counties to accept.

Well past time this rubbish ended.
Parnell Park is Dublin`s home ground, not Croke Park

Was it? Im sure it was Croke Park specified.

That is correct, Croke Park, not neutral.

I’m almost certain when it was voted in the structure was as I have suggested and after that the neutral venue just kind of morphed into Croke Park
Then the murmurs of discontent started when people thought about it but it was too late .........
I don’t think it will be a massive issue as the likes of Donegal may actually prefer to play that game at Croker anyway
But it was a bit presumptuous of the GAA perhaps

The main issue will be when the likes of Dublin and Mayo draw another county will a small ground (there aren’t many as small as Conleth Park though )
But how that issue has been out to bed
    The home team decides
    Which is right and proper
If they decide to switch then that’s their call

We all know that but a ground in same county as a participating team is hardly neutral now is it !!!!

Galway for example could play Games in Tuam or Salthill
Could they nominate one as a home ground and the other as neutral ?

Let's not start this, we all deserve some rest after the last few days ;)

If Mayo were in a Super 8`s group at this stage with Dublin to find that Dublin had both their home and neutral game in Croke Park, especially if the neutral game was v Mayo I wonder would you still see it that way.

This with Kildare has been coming for a long time. Now is the time imo to sort it once and for all rather than brush it back under the carpet.

As I said above some teams would be happy to play at Croker for a neutral game as Lucy’s May suit them etc

What I’m getting at is now county boards have taken back a little of the power from HQ and MAY now have a choice
This isn’t just about Dublin btw

I flagged it last month ahead of super 8s and likely problems for away games involving mayo and Dublin

Galway would be quote entitled to nominate either Tuam or Salthill as a home ground but in the Super 8`s would have no say in the neutral ground.

Neutral grounds have always been recognised as a ground in another county that are generally equidistant from both competing counties.

Parnell Park is Dublin`s home ground, Croke Park is a national stadium in the same county and therefore should not be termed a neutral venue.

We're not going to sort it out here anyway.

I would be happy with Mayo playing all 3 Super 8 games in Croke Park.

    As would I
I just think it’s going to become more of an issue now !!!!

    Speaking of issues
Tickets for this game will be an issue
I m also assuming they will now have to drop the price ........

Ive read on Twitter that they're already on sale at the ground, and it's a free for all. Might not be true

That is fine if some teams are happy to play their neutral games in Croke Park, but that is a choice that should be left to them.
Not something that should be imposed on them by the GAA`s fast and loose use of their interpretations of health and safety issues similar to the Kildare situation.

By no stretch of imagination or geography can Croke Park be seen as a neutral venue for Dublin teams.

It's a hard one to call. Diarmuid and Keegan with Aidan drifting in and out at 11 would be my choice.

Maybe Vaughan or Kirby could be thrown in?

Oh I agree. But if they were to play all their home games in Parnell then it would even it up a little!

I wouldn`t imagine there will be tickets on general release.

First call on tickets will go to season ticket holders and the remainder will then be allocated to the county boards for distribution by the clubs i imagine.
