He was pulled by Con as they had a UBL game v Lansdowne.

Was at the game-standouts for Ireland Students were Thornton,O'Dea,O'Sullivan,Osborne,Kilgallon and Courtney(playing on wing as Bohane played 13)and Taylor kicked very well. Very good game overall and well contested. HT was 14-10 Ireland and FT was 33-17 Ireland. Game played on a 4G pitch in Edinburgh University as Boroughmuir was flooded. Interesting that 9 for Scotland was Shaun Edwards son.

One of the props(Cronan Gleeson) is a former second row/backrow as well.
Both props from Tipp. Gleeson from Nenagh. Skehan Thurles.

Melia has a bit of a 7s history so he'd be a pretty mobile second row by all accounts

    Junior leagues reaching conclusion.
it was 2nd v 1st in Connacht and Ballina beat Connemara in Clifden 38-5 to win the League.

Bandon and Richmond level at top of the Munster league. 1 round left. Bandon host Newcastle West who're still in shout of an all ireland cup place for next season while Richmond host a Skibbereen side with nothing to play for.

Ashbourne lead Leinster league by 3 points with the final round tomorrow. They travel to Monkstown while their challengers Enniscorthy are playing DLSP in Salmo. Monkstown are bottom and already relegated so it shouldnt be too much of a problem for Ashbourne to get the win needed to be champions.

Instonians lead Ballyclare by 2 points with 2 games to go for each club with one set of games Tuesday and final round next Saturday
Instonians know 2 wins with just 1 bonus will give them the title and i think they'll get it.

What a win at the death by Trinity-thats 4 wins in a row against YM over last 2 seasons-Trinity gifted YM 12 points in first half -YM getting into Trin 22 twice. YM went 19-11 up with 5 to go and Trin got a PK and then went through 20 odd phases to win it at the death!

Trin now 6 points ahead of Marys and 14 ahead of Buccs-Marys run in is Nure away Tarf home and Garryowen away.

    1A
Clontarf v Garryowen - Great match up - Garryowen really need to win to keep top 4 hopes alive

Lansdowne v Dublin University - Very wary of Trinity as they seem to be much improved from their form earlier. Important for Lansdowne to start to string together some form after an indifferent display against Con last time out.

UCD v Cork Con - Could see the students folding as realistically they are likely safe and not a whole lot to play for.

Young Munster v Buccaneers - Munsters will surely bounce back after their loss to Trinity - would see a BP win here

Terenure College v St Mary's College - Dublin's version of el classico. Marys were poor against UCD by all accounts and desperately need a win but Terenure are equally hungry to secure a home semi and I think will have enough

    1B
Shannon v Old Wesley - Shannon should really do the business here - think wesley don't have a whole lot to play for at this stage

Ballymena v UL Bohemians - Always tend to favour Ballymena when they are at home

Ballynahinch v Dolphin - Should be fairly straight forward for Hinch
Naas v Banbridge - Naas have struggled for consistency whilst Banbridge looking to get auto promotion with no 1 slot. Think Naas may do a number on them though

Old Belvedere v UCC - Belvo should have more power up front but UCC have surprised a lot of teams this season and I think this could be another surprise

Big weekend in 2A Malone could seal the league title with a home win against Cashel. If they do that and Nenagh win against the struggling Greystones then Nenagh will over take their tipp rivals into 3rd place. Highfield travel to Queens and a win will confirm their 2nd place Corinthians host Armagh. Armagh need sides above them to slip up to have any hope of a promotion place will Corinthians are bottom and need to win to have any chance of avoiding relegation

Old Crescent will beat Dungannon to seal league title and promotion. Navan need a win to stay in the final promotion playoff spot while Barnhall will be looking for the win as they try catch Rainey for the home playoff spot. Bottom of table decided with Derry relegated and Belfast Harlequins in relegation playoff

Promotion between any of Thomond, Malahide, Sligo, Bruff and Bangor in 2C while Bective are bottom theyre 3 off Tullamore and Midleton. Bective and Midleton play each other in rescheduled game in a few weeks. The relegated side and playoff side will be two of these three sides.

Heard theres around 700 seats at the pre-match lunch for Nure Marys sold so there should be a really big crowd there, nothing new for that game though

Was at Rock v Wegians. Massively important win especially with Greystones and Corinthians both winning. Went 12-0 up before 10 minutes before Wegians more or less controlled the first half to go in in front. Did well to pull it back second half

Didnt get to a game today. Too hungover this morning to do anything.
Blackrock should be alright now and it'll be Greystones and Corinthians relegated/playoff now IMO.

Was at the Shannon game, they made it hard work. Were up 21-9 at one stage and were faffing about in our 22. Ended up leaving in two soft tries and luckily the OW didnt convert the second try and shannon were lucky to get another penalty.

A Buccaneers win over Young Munster would have kept the bottom of 1A a bit more exciting in the final two weeks but its Buccaneers to be relegated and St Marys in the playoffs
At the top for the title it will be Lansdowne first, Terenure or Cork Con second and the other third. Fourth will be Garryowen, Clontarf or Young Munster

In 1B next week see's Dolphin Shannon and UCC Naas in refixed games from the weather. Shannon should win that to close gap to top two. UCC win will guarantee their playoff spot and the final rounds will be about the order the sides will be in for the playoffs
Dolphin and Old Belvedere are the only sides in the division with nothing to play for in the final 2 rounds though Belvedere have saving grace they will still be in 1B next season unlike Dolphin

In 2A Its Malone first and promoted with a win next time out. Highfield will be second and therefore home in the playoffs. Nenagh have lost 3 in a row since beating Cashel at start of year and form isnt great at all as they seek to keep in the promotion race. Huge game for them next weekend. Theyre now 4th as Cashel have passed them out and they host Corinthians next weekend in a big game at each end of the table. A win for Nenagh puts them back into 3rd while Corinthians are now bottom of the table. 2 points behind their city rivals and a further point behind Greystones.

2B everything decided at top and bottom. Crescent top and promoted. Rainey are second. Barnhall 3rd though could be caught by Navan. City of Derry relegated and Belfast Harlequins in relegation playoff spot

2C only 3 points separating the top 4 places so obviously order will change considerably in final rounds. gap of 6 to 5th place so unlikely to see that closed in final rounds. Bective are 7 off 2nd bottom with a game in hand against fellow strugglers Midleton. win the game in hand and they could survive otherwise they'll be junior. relegation playoff spot will be one of Tullamore, Bruff, Midleton, Seapoint

Looking at the fixtures would fancy Garryowen to cement that 4th spot - They have Buccs away and Marys at home.

Yeah look like it will be garryowen as they hav buccs away and marys at home, if marys lose to tarf or if trinity beat ucd ,marys wil be already in play off by then, they might need one bonus point as well, excellent result for them up there,

as for us the trinity defeat has knocked stuffing out of us,as did 5 day turnaround, lot of injuries too, struggled to beat buccs were 19-3 up at ht, buccs came back to go 19-22 up and we got a late try, to get bp win, to fair play to the boys for battling back. if we can beat lansdowne we will go into last game with mathematical chance of going through , but we need both tarf and garryowen to slip up. Goes to show the effect of the trinity game had we held out we would be in 4th, albeit garryowen still be favourites after their excellent win, and if it is garryowen that make it i hope they go on to win it
