I'd keep Duncan on for another year until the younger lads show promise, happy to have him as backup

In your opinion TLS. For next season, you have to admit that it would hard to see him getting a contract renewal with the options we have incoming and currently with the squad.

Is it fair to say that Matthewson is a better SH too?

matthewson is a better SH but not as irish and thats the deciding factor

For someone who isn't good enough for Munster, he's amassed an awful lot of caps. For Munster.

Hmm did you come up with that yourself? :D

Yeah he has, doesn't mean he's good enough, just that there weren't any other options available, although Gerry Hurley was better, but the Cork Con Mafia kept him ahead of Hurley.

Conspiracy theories aside (and assuming you meant "weren't"), that's pretty much the definition of "good enough".

If he was as bad as you make out, he wouldn't have even 25% of the caps he has.

Anyways, this has been done to death and I know I'm not going to convince you otherwise so will just leave it there.

    Munster team out:

The Munster team has been named for Sunday’s Guinness PRO14 encounter with Zebre at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi (4.30pm local time, 3.30pm Irish time – live on eir Sport and Premier Sports).
Conor Murray, Chris Farrell and Conor Oliver make their return to the matchday squad and are all named on the bench, while Ronan O’Mahony makes his first appearance of the 2018/19 season.

Tyler Bleyendaal continues his captaincy from inside centre and Academy player Gavin Coombes makes his first start in the Guinness PRO14.

There are several changes to the starting XV who claimed a 30-26 win over the Cheetahs in South Africa earlier this month.

Mike Haley continues at full-back as O’Mahony returns on the right wing with Alex Wootton maintaining his position on the opposite flank.

Rory Scannell starts in the 13 shirt with Bleyendaal completing the centre partnership.

Neil Cronin and JJ Hanrahan combine in the half-backs.

The pack sees Jeremy Loughman, Kevin O’Byrne and Stephen Archer in the front row with Fineen Wycherley and Darren O’Shea partnering in the second row.

Coombes is joined by Chris Cloete and Arno Botha in the back row.

Academy player Sean O’Connor is named among the replacements.

Find out all you need to know about the clash here.

Munster: Mike Haley; Ronan O’Mahony; Rory Scannell, Tyler Bleyendaal (C); Alex Wootton; JJ Hanrahan, Neil Cronin; Jeremy Loughman, Kevin O’Byrne, Stephen Archer; Fineen Wycherley, Darren O’Shea; Gavin Coombes, Chris Cloete, Arno Botha.

Replacements: Mike Sherry, Brian Scott, Ciaran Parker, Sean O’Connor, Conor Oliver, Conor Murray, Bill Johnston, Chris Farrell.

Little surprised that JJ is getting the nod. Good to see the lads returning from injury! Not a bad old team though!

Rory Scannell at 13? Not sure if he's started there for us before?

That's great Farrell is back - didn't expect to see him until January.

he was on bench for last pro14 game in May 2017 anyways after being injured for a couple of months

    EDIT: I can beat that!!

Great to see ROM back. He's a good player and was really doing well a couple of years ago.
I'd have played TB at 10 and JJ at 12.
Oliver is one to watch, very fast and all over the field. Offers something different to the team.

Doubt we'll see Farrell's best for a few months at least, that type of injury takes the bones of a season before the player starts to forget about it.

What injury did he suffer again?

    14-0
Pitch looks very cut up and heavy... Munster doing well in these conditions.
