I think Sherry got a few starts near the start of the season, but that was about it.

A bit like Williams and Hart, he got a chance to prove himself and didn't impress JvG. If you're not in favour you don't play.

The new A tournament is a mess because it's all in one block, if our A team could play through the season it might give players a chance to play themselves back into contention.

Surprised but delighted for Tyler, hope he can get back to his best and he has plenty to offer the squad. Covers 12 too which is a position where we've no specialist bar the ever durable Rory Scannell as someone already pointed out.

Hooker is an interesting one, do you keep faith with Sherry to come back or cut ties and bring through someone from the academy? And have we someone who is ready to make that step?

Why is anyone surprised at Tyler getting an extension? Nearly anytime he's played for us this season he's captained us even with Billy Holland in the squad. People can have a view how how he plays but it's fairly obvious he's rated by those that count.

Happy with the current contract announcements and I'd like us to hang onto Alby, hopefully, in the coming months he'll do enough to influence the decision in our favour.

    well...I think it would be....

I am not surprised either given their apparent faith in him but I think this is a make or break contract in terms of his health

Billy Scannell was one of the academy players who trained with the seniors recently. Worth giving a run in the pre season maybe? He's young but he's got great genes!

    3 hookers
    4 loose-head props
    4 tight-head props + 1 academy year three
    6 locks
8 back rows + 1 academy year three
    3 scrum-halves + 2 academy year threes
    4 out-halves + 1 academy year threes
    5 centres + 2 academy year threes
6 back threes + 2 academy year threes

I think we’re stacked except for hooker and back three.
Mike Sherry could get another season, and either Ronan O’Mahony or Stephen Fitzgerald could get another season also.
Probably whichever can cover fullback better, as we seem to have a lot of wings.
That’s 43 senior players with possibility to add another two perhaps, and 9 year three academy players.
I think that’s a solid squad for next season, wouldn’t be bothered if we don’t get any more signings.

Munster have plenty back three talent (Shane Daly will be on a senior contract next season) and I see they are supplying back three players to the U20s. I would move on from ROM. Fitzgerald might simply remain with Connacht.

Shane Daly is a centre though, but can cover wing.

Fitzgerald has a good chance of getting a contract with Connacht. Has been impressive so far, and seems to have leapfrogged Horwitz in the pecking order already.

Wrong Fitzgerald i think. Stephen is the wing/fullback on loan from munster. Connor is the out half and is in the Connacht academy. They're brothers.

although you're right that Connor is looking as good or better than Horowitz and that Stephen has impressed when he played.
