With the Switch, I got an @Play starter kit, containing a case, earbuds and 2 screen protectors. I've gotten bubbles following application of the screen protector. Maybe I'll remove it and go with an Orzly if dirt removal and reapplication doesn't work (not that I have reapplied it yet).

the screen protectors in those sets dont do much aside from protect from scratches i'd highly recommend a shatter resistant one incase it falls or something

Sank a few hours into Steamworld Heist last night. It's good craic, can be pretty unforgiving though. Having a team of scoped snipers does take a lot of the challenge out!

You bought it in the EU and it's an easily reproducable error. Contact support via phone or online chat, verify they want you return it for a fix, then go to return it to the shop. They have an obligation.

Yup, if you go with the warranty you'll be switchless for a while, everything will be wiped if you send it for repair

Cheers lads. It was bought from Smyths online store. If you look at their FAQ it says that 28 days after purchase you must contact the manufacturer. But that doesn't correspond with the law.

It’s nonsense, the item wasn’t fit for purpose or of merchantable quality...therefore they’re violating consumer law and in breach of contract (as per the sale of goods and supply of services act states) if they decline to deal with you. A registered letter to head office should get the job done, and failing that, the small claims court will definitely side with you. You can choose to deal with Nintendo should you choose too, though that’s a warranty matter, not a breach of contract matter which is what Smyths are looking at.

I had a similar experience, bought a pair of headphones from the software desk in Smyth's and, as I was begging handed the receipt, told I had three months warranty.
Ignored him because that's a load of nonsense.

Besides Kamiko can anyone recommend any other non Nintendo exclusives for the Switch, I know there is not that many yet.

Bought enter the gungeon for a fiver on the russian eshop and it seems like good fun.

I've only played a couple of rounds though because I've become completely absorbed by breath of the wild :D

It took me an hour to
climb the tower with the flying guardians and red/black stuff
but it was great craic learning from my mistakes.

Glided to the nearest shrine and part of it is a motion control game where you have to roll 3 balls into individual slots. I don't suppose there's any boards hackerman easy solution to this one ? :pac:

I agree, it's great fun. Also very challenging. I have it on my PC, and I might probably get it for the Switch.

Not quite a hack, but if you're playing either handheld or with the joycons in the grip, slip them off, and just use the right joycon, much easier to manipulate/maneuver it that way.

Ok after a few days I want to give my thoughts on the Switch.

Hardware: Excellent, I'm very impressed. The screen is good, games look good, Joycons are excellent, battery is fine.

Games: I got a good variety but haven't even tried Zelda or Xenoblade yet. Golf Story and MK8 are great, Odyssey is good (still getting to grips with it) and I enjoyed my short time with Fire Emblem.

That's the basics out of the way anyway. Some other thoughts, the OS is lovely and clean, I really like it. It's simple and and very user friendly. The build quality is very good and the thought process gone into the system is very innovative. The Joycons are excellent, the way you can split them for multiplayer is a lovely touch and saves you needing to buy a second controller. The ability to play on TV/Switch is so handy, there's been plenty of evenings over the last few months where I've fancied playing a few games but didn't want to go upstairs to the games room, the Switch has had plenty of use over the last few days for this very reason and I see it getting a lot more use like this.

Overall I'm delighted with my Switch and looking forward to hundreds/thousands of hours over the next few years with it.

So you had experience with the protector I'm using?

So you had experience with the protector I'm using?

If you got a plastic protector then they are not as good as the glass ones. It's the same with the phone ones, if you have a tempered glass one that'll break before the screen breaks in most cases.

Got ones with my case and used til my glass ones arrived. The good ones don't tend to come free with cases.
Bonus also the glass ones tend not to have bubbles when applied

Those pesky little bubbles... they know what they'll get for botching up the clarity of my Switch. :D (not that the current protector has damaged my Switch's screen).

I put the orzly protector on Christmas Day with 2 huge bubbles and by Wednesday they went away on their own so I'd recommend the orzly protectors as well.

With my plastic @Play one, the bubbles persisted. I tried to reapply the protector, but that ended up amplifying the situation, as I was dealing with two layers of the protector.

Yeah the more you try to fix the plastic ones the more bubbles and frustration i found

Just want to say happy New year to everyone here on Nintendo Boards. It's been my first year as a Nintendo gamer and this has easily been my favourite year in gaming.
Really enjoying the conversations on here. Not a day goes by that I don't check these forums to see what's going on in the world of Nintendo.
Roll on a fantastic year of more Switch gaming in 2018.

I'm no drinker. I'm underage anyways, so why would I in the first place?

I am completely sold with this
Young lad got one off santa
Possibly the most satisfying console I’ve ever played
The design and build quality is great
Every time I pick it up I just enjoy the design
My Ugly Plasticy PS4 was something I was happy to hide away under a desk
It’s great being able to change how you play, tv, handled, on table
Games I’ve played so far, lego Chase McCain and Mario Odyssey
Chase McCain is amazing, a lego comedy version of GTA, so much to see and do and jam packed with little jokes that are easy to miss
Mario you get what you expect, which is a masterpiece

Played mariocart with 4 other people by splitting two sets of controllers, genius idea
I haven’t played my PS4 in a long time and I dont think I’ll ever go back.
Been great fun taking turns with the young lad

Nintendo brought their A game with this console

I barely play my PS4, but that's not to say it's a bad console at all.

The Switch feels like an evolution of the Wii U, given its ability to be used anywhere, while the Wii U GamePad had to be close to the system itself.

Have to echo this. A great system with so many uses. It even got taken out in the pub on Stephens Day for some two player games of Mario Kart!

I have an office in my house with two LCD monitors. I got a brainwave to get a HDMI switcher for one of the monitors so I could hook my Switch up to it. Works a treat!

Now I can play Switch on one screen and TV/browse on the other (and I can switch back to two screens when I need them).

The only catch was that the LCD monitor doesn't have speakers, so I had to plug a spare set of speakers through the audio jack (a small price to pay).

I've been playing Mario, Yooka-Laylee and Steamworld Heist today. Yooka-Laylee is fantastic, I don't care what anyone says. Just mash the buttons to get through the annoying voices as quickly as possible. :)

    Such a versatile console.

You can change the setting to brief voices, so they only make a couple of noises then they're done!
