"Pac1Man you have been charged with first degree murder. How do you plead?"

    "Snipperclips."

All set up and charging now. I said I wouldn't have a backlog on Switch like Xbox and PS4 but that didn't work out.

Added a 200GB Memory Card, games, screen protector and an extra dock for the bedroom over the last few weeks. Switch was a gift from herself.

Mario kart is some Craic with a bunch if screaming kids ready to kill each other. Is there a way of turning off motion control for steering. Just using 4 joy find for 4 players

Yes when you're selecting your car setup press the plus or minus button on your joy con. 3 driving aid icons should pop up. Press the indicated button to turn off all assists.

Happy Switchmas everyone. This has easily been my favourite year for gaming. And I didn't buy a Switch until June.
The Switch is my first ever Nintendo console but I'm converted now. Never had so many conversations about games with mates who have also jumped on board the Switch juggernaut.
    Happy gaming over the holidays.

The Wii U eShop is working perfectly fine. :D I see the Americans got more discounts added to their eShop yesterday. As an example they already had a discount on Axiom Verge a few weeks ago and they've gotten it again. Europe didn't get it either time.

Was down earlier but fine now.

I think it’s still on and off. Just got a new error message that the servers are down for maintenance.

I've been wanting to access the eShop to no success. It's been a bit frustrating, but that's probably Christmas Day for you.

    Still down for me.

I pity all the kids who got eShop credit for Xmas.
Funnily enough, I was able to do a software update, and an update to Mario kart so it's not all Nintendo servers that are down.

Same here. The software updates worked for me.

Well and truly up and running with the Switch now. Battery life in handheld mode only thing thats concerning me, with the charging port where it is how do people play while its charging but can't play docked?

BoTW as well, just barely turned it on for 10 minutes or so. Game looks amazing but didn't want to go too far in cos I want to focus on one game at a time. Played a bit of Rabbids too, not sure if its a game for me tbh so will probably trade it in. MK8 is great but I'm playing through each grand prix now, 50cc is so boring its very hard to stay playing longer than 4 tracks at a time. Is it worth doing them or am I as well just get on with it, like what do I unlock other than different karts?

After a few hours with my First Nintendo Console since the DS I am truly impressed.

So far today I've had a blast at Binding of Iaasc, Odyssey and Fire Emblem. I bought and spent about an hour on Golf Hero (instant favourite) and played an few hours of Mario Kart.

I've played on TV, Handheld and Tabletop mode. Four player Mario Kart is great craic. And to be honest the Joy Cons are great no matter what way you use them.

It was a real wow moment when I first tried them split on Odyssey and felt the HD rumble.

    Looking forward to Zelda tomorrow.

So far, I've been impressed with the Switch.

Odyssey's been grand so far, along with BOTW. Along with that, I've got Sonic Forces, which has been lacklustre and a step down from Generations. I've played a few of the DLC (on Wii U) tracks in MK8, which also gives us a proper battle mode.

Unplug the charger from the dock and plug it into the Switch, or buy a new one if that's too much effort.

Jump straight to 150cc, you unlock the lower cups by beating higher difficulties

You just unlock stuff by collecting coins, literally just takes play time to unlock everything

Rabbids picks up quickly actually, I'm only at world 1-4 and am impressed, I'd give it to world 2 anyways at this stage.

Some people just aren't into turn based strategy games. I see people recommending them all the time without examining what they are. Most people I know wouldn't spend more than 5 minutes on this kind of game, you really have to be into them.

Rabbids I found it to be the must easy turn based game I have ever got into it was a real pick up and play game. I am not a huge fan of them but this had the Nintendo magic (it's made by ubisoft) but you know what I mean it was funny and just great gameplay.

While desghea that's a different kettle of fish that's a game to get ready go trow your switch off the wall as you have to use your brain in that as one wrong move and your done for !!! But great game

Yeah I like Rabbids myself but I would urge anyone recommending it to let the person know what kind of game they are getting first.

Just added Rocket League and Enter the Gungeon to my Switch collection :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭earthwormjack

I've played the Switch version of Rocket League more than any other. I quickly got over the lesser visuals when I could play the game anywhere, even online through data tethering. Playing it with my nephew at the kitchen table yesterday, he's never owned a Nintendo console and after about 10 mins "I have to get a Switch for my birthday" :D

My son loves the switch as do I, currently hes hogging it on splatoon, but hes gotta go to his grandads later so suck it pixels jr!

    Figured it out!
Turns out that I had to delete the pairing information on the Switch itself, it's found within the settings menu.
Obviously (well, now it's obvious) the digital handshake had to be reset after the controller had been paired with a different Switch. Once that was done it paired immediately.
    Happy days!
Let's hope if this pops up on Reddit that I get the credit!

    At this sh1te once again.
Can't for the life of me get my FC30Pro to pair with my Switch, after a friend of my son was messing with it a couple of months ago.
New firmware prompted me to try it out again, and there's still no joy :(
I can't seem to get it to sync up!

Right, got it to sync to my phone, so it does work, just won't connect to the Switch, even though I've reset the Switch's controllers.
    Bugger

For some unknown reason a hard reset of the Switch got the job done.
What a pain in the h0le!

Addicted to steamworld dig 2 at the moment such a little gem on the switch. Not played it on anything else before so really enjoying it.

Sonic Forces is not good. Completely underwhelming, especially if Sega said it was from the team that brought us Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations. Forces is between a 4/10 and a 5/10 in my book.
Mania is just a much better game.
