thinking about getting the jackbox party pack for christmas for family play time (with my parents, not my kids).

Is it suitable? all i see on youtube is trivia murder party

After looking into peoples opinions, I went for the one with Fibbage and Drawful. Great so far and the using your phone system works well. :)

I've played some of those games and they are so much fun, especially after a few drinks.
The drawing one is crazy, you just keep adding to the best voted picture.
    Highly recommend them

Looking forward to getting my hands on the Switch. Hopefully the missus will allow a present swap on Christmas Eve, be quicker to download updates then rather than the big day.

I know she bought Super Mario Odyssey but she keeps going on not to buy any more games so maybe she picked something else up. I really hope she hasn't bought Zelda as I got that from Amazon a few weeks back but I'm afraid to tell her. A few years back she bought me Skyrim for Christmas. She was less than happy when a week or so before Christmas I come strolling into the house with my own copy of Skyrim I just bought! :D

If she has bought Zelda I'll just quietly return/trade/sell the Amazon copy!

Just picked up Mario + Rabbids. Probably won't get to tackle it though until the end of the week. Can't wait to get started with it though. One of my mates got it recently too. With the new Versus mode, can i play against him online or is it local multiplayer only?

Is there anyway I can get rocket league digitally without going to the eshop on the console itself?
Set up a new child and parent account, find the game on the website already logged in and when try to buy nothing.

    Local only (for now)

How a Blind Gamer Plays Nintendo Switch

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZx63C60rRw

I found this very interesting. Those of us that have no visual impairment take things for granted. Also, I wasn't aware of the inverted colours or greyscale mode on the Switch. He makes mention too of how good game design helps blind people play games, specifically mentioning Pokemon, Splatoon 2 and MK8 amongst others.

    Very interesting.

But...... I'm getting worried about you if you are intending to downgrade your eye sight to get more value out of your Switch! :o

Panic Button are handling the Switch port of Wolfenstein 2. They did a great job with Doom so hopefully it'll turn out well, it will be more of a challenge though but they seem to be very well regarded.

Thank god for Sony, thank god for Microsoft and thank god for Nintendo.

I don't think some of your realise the implications of having only one manufacturer, i.e. a lack of competition.

That's very childish and makes zero sense, since you have already given them the sale.

It is, but it's my irrational hate for Sony.

You can use https://ec.nintendo.com/redeem to enter a code you buy from for example; cdkeys

It'll download the game automagically. I did it with my Odyssey, came home from dinner to it and jumped right in.

You probably need to be fully updated.

Thanks but I can't get a rocket league code anywhere for some reason

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the sort order of the games on the home screen? Or are you stuck with the sequence in which they were installed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

It's based on new installs and last played. Played takes precedence

Its the order games are played in I thought, like most recently played, second most etc

Got to play the switch tonight, setup was full of weirdness(why do i have to set up a Nintendo account on a computer and not on the switch itself???) but no more painful than my PS4. Having seen the dock in the flesh I can't believe they charge €90 for it normally, it literally is a very flimsy piece of plastic. Everything else though, absolute class. Played about a half hour of SMO and MK8, love the joycon in each hand, really comfortable and nice way of playing. Still haven't got used to "A" as primary button which results in silly mistakes for me but the joycons are really much better than initially expected when I took them out of the box, they just seemed so small. Took out the Pro controller then, not blown away by it TBH for the price, nearly regret not getting another set of Joycons on first impression but I only played about half hour of MK8 with it so can't really form any impression. Played everything docked so far, not sure if that makes much difference. Only played around and hour and a half but already can't wait to get back to it, i've Assasins Creed Origins updating on the PSPro now so will play that until christmas I think if I can and save the Switch for then. If i can manage it that is, hope Origins is as good as reviews suggest.

Stuck on a screen protector as advised though against my better judgement, will see how it goes when using it handheld but so far pretty good, got the Orzly ones as recommended here.

**Just adding here, thanks for all the recommendations/answering newb questions from everyone here, been very helpful.

Not long, about 15 minutes I’d say. It wouldn’t let me set up a Nintendo account until I downloaded an update which took less than 2 minutes to download. Then it told me I needed to go on a computer to set up the account. So have a smartphone or laptop handy when doing it. Tiny updates for MK8 and odyssey as well. Such a contrast to assasins creed which had an update that took a half hour to download.

I suppose things will be fine for me, as I already have a Nintendo account.

Brand new Xenoblade Pro Controller arrived today :D

I've been saving Zelda for this moment :o

Pricey enough for what they are but for 65 euro delivered, it's not a bad piece of kit for the convenience and the extra play time

Although I have spent a fortune the last two weeks on Nintendo switch stuff but it's worth it :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Went to Smyths to pick up some accessories ordered.....was able to pick up splatoons as they got a delivery of 50 :D My son will be so excited.

What was the griping re pro controllers I’d read a while back, something about directional pads not working properly? Half tempted to pick one up but don’t fancy dropping the money on a lemon

According to most online discussions, reddit, etc. People claim that the Xenoblade controller has improved D pad. I bought one but don't have another to compare it to.
