Is 200gb the lowest size micro sd people would recommend or would 128gb hold a person over? I need to get one before xmas as I expect a game or two as presents and want to download Resident Evil Revelations for the xmas break.

I went for 64gb and regret it now.128gb would be bare minimum to gp if you want third party games, but if you happy with nintendo first party then 64gb will do, and 128gb will be plenty. Ofc if you can push to 200gb, then go for it.

Nice sale going on throughout the EU eshops at the minute. Mario + Rabbids down to around €35 in the Russian store. Think I'll get it at that price.

I had originally planned on going for a 200gb card, but I can only seem to find 128gb in shops and would be worried about ordering one online this close to xmas in case it wouldnt come on time

You'll pay a fair bit more buying from a shop rather than Amazon say. I'm using a Prime free trial + Parcel Wizard to get mine here in a couple of days.

In any brick and mortar shop you will be sadomised. 64gb not too bad, was like 30eu and 20eu online, but when you go 128gb+ brick and mortar goes derp derp price wise. You better off ordering now. The likes amazon are still very good with deliveries from my own experience from last few years. I even ordered stuff that got delivered on 24th. And I expected it way after xmas.

Try MemoryC. Based in Kildare, and decent prices. I ordered a 64gb SD on Tuesday and it arrived today.

OK, so I've searched and searched but not found the answer I'm looking for (or the answer I want).

Can I download a game and ONLY have it available on my profile eg so the kids can't play it. I know Nintendo are saying it's a selling point that all games downloaded are available across all profiles.
Nice, but not what I want!

    TIA

You could bump the partental control up, should catch things like that.

Yeah the parental control app will do the job for you.

Yeah I have that, was thinking more of having a "private profile" where they couldn't even see my games.

    Cheers though

    That can't be done, unfortunately.

You pick the game, then you pick the user. If it was the other way round, it could be different.

    Let's Predict Nintendo's 2018!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_BC-tbGUjM

That's the thing, I don't see how 2018 can possibly match this year. When you look at the big franchises, we've had Mario and Zelda, they take years to make, so that's them done for a while(though I'm sure SMO will have DLC announced). Then look at the big games from Wii U, MK8, it's out. Splatoon, the biggest new franchise, the sequel is out.

Then there's Smash Bros. and Super Mario Maker. They're not as huge, still big though, again they're likely to be ports. Yoshi, Kirby, Pikmin 4 they're way down the heavyweight list, they won't be massive system shifters. Metroid Prime 4 isn't a big seller either, it's great for the hardcore but it goes mostly unappreciated by the general public. It's most likely not coming out next year either. That just leaves Pokemon, can't stand it but if it releases next year, it's the one title that can sell hardware. You know Nintendo will be pushing them to have it ready for Christmas next year.

3rd parties, I think Nintendo will need big-time next year. And big 3rd party games, not just ports. Nothing released by them thus far has been truly original, sold well, had proper parity with the competition. With a couple of exceptions. The most successful game has been Mario + Rabbids, a collaboration. I'd guess that Bayonetta 3 is in the same boat as MP4. Let's see if the 3rd parties back up their recent talk(that Namco event is happening tomorrow, well today now). Next month's Nintendo Direct will be hugely important and fascinating to watch, it's likely this side of a month away.

    Is Snake Pass good?
Mark Brown sells it like its worth playing but I'm still not so sure

This basically sums up the Switch for me. Prior to the Switch, most of my time was spent gaming on a phone, as I just didn't have the time to spend on the newer console games.

It was the first game that I uninstalled when my SD card was full. I couldn't get to grips with it (pun intended).

Looks great, sounds fantastic (David Wise's soundtrack is one of the best of the year), but there is a steep learning curve on the controls and I wasn't inclined to invest the time to learn them (too many other good games out at the time).

    Totally agree.

I think it is. It's a unique take on a platformer. Just take it slow most of the time. Feather the movement of the snake, while traversing platforms, instead of constantly holding the button down and it becomes a lot easier.

Camera issues do happen from time to time though.

It's been on sale already for a decent discount so if you hold on until after Christmas I think the devs will put it on sale again for new switch owners.

Snake Pass was a major disappointment for me, but it isn't a Switch specific problem, I think it was a problem across the formats

Was dying to play through Gorogoa yesterday, but was bed-bound with a bit of a flu. Couldn't bring myself to sit in front of a computer for two hours.

Realised it was on Switch and didn't have to leave bed to play it.

    THIS MACHINE IS EVERYTHING

Remarkable. Easily one of the year's best games. Has this completely mysterious but surprisingly intuitive internal logic. Stunningly crafted, and a great one-sitting sort of game. Seven years very well spent by Jason Roberts!

What is the Splatoon 2 single player like? Is it a reprise of the levels used in the original, or all new levels? Really liked the SP in the first one but if it is the same all over again the sequel I might skip it...

new levels with with replayabilty with other weapons, if you enjoyed the SP of the first game you will like splatoon 2's one. Personally tho i didnt really get a kick out of SP in either games tbh. I love the ranked and turf wars mode.

Sorry if it's the wrong thread and it's probably asked a few pages back but looking to buy my brother the switch over Christmas or after not rushed yet, just wondering what the base price usually is and what place usually has the best offer on a bundle for it (smyths, Argos etc)

Again sorry if it's posted in the wrong thread

The base price is usually €330 with no games. I haven't seen any decent bundles in any of the shops. Amazon had two good deals as part of Black Friday/Cyber Monday but they're obviously long gone now. You'll just need to check all the websites when you're planning on pulling the trigger.

I'm in! Picked up a mint switch with Odyssey for €300 today. That's the next few weeks sorted. Have estore credit of €12 to spend so steamworld 2 or the mummy interest me most.

I'm loving how fast time is travelling this year, at least for me, as I'll be playing my Switch very soon.

I'm about to order a pro controller but has anyone compared the standard black controller and the Xenoblade one?

Seems to be some people saying there is a difference in the D pad?

    Anyone used both?
