Anyone moving to prepay, they've changed the top up period from 30 days to 28, in order to cause confusion and get more accidental data charges. They'll text to tell you you've spent about 10 euros, after you've spent it. It's very thoughtful.
I've been on pre-pay with three for a few years now. God, i moved from meteor and that really annoyed me. They don't text you when your days are up, you have to remind yourself. Meteor at least sent a text saying when your out of the plan and it will start taking credit, instantly!

I spent 20 euro of my credit, unknowingly, and about 2 hours later I get a text saying i've spent 20 euro or so. Very annoying!

I want to change, but unfortunately there are no better offers around ;/

You guys are giving me flashbacks of the focus group I did for 3. Loads of cheapskates moaning about 3 not telling them when their month was up. Set a reminder if its so important to drag your credit out for as long as humanly possible. 3 are already doing enough for you.

    Oh I did.

But I dislike seeing my credit disappear with no warning for no reason. Its only the AYCE PAYG sim that my credit disappears. If i use a different PAYG sim it doesn't happen.

I thought the reason was your month was up. Poor form if theyre taking your credit for no reason, I'd complain. Not really the topic of this thread though, sorry for OT.

It just good to know if you are switching from bill pay.

Going by a per day charge, 365 days on 3pay prepay will cost €260.71 assuming you top up on the day your benefits expire, compared to €243.33 currently for the same.creiteria.

It's €17 per year, nothing too bad. What really gets me is losing the free weekend calls.

What will make up for this is not having to buy a SIM card in Spain in order to use data.

I've faced more extreme price increases than this.

Just a note that out of plan internet charges on prepay seem to be €1,010 a GB! If you have credit saved up or whatever be careful you don't go over your month.

If they have an automatic top up feature, use it.

Always been that way, nothing new. Same with Vodafone.

Quick question, I am due an upgrade in May but the phone I have now has gotten very slow and also the headphone jack is broken. Would I be right in saying that I can cancel my current contract with them without any early termination fee due to them breaching the contract and instantly sign up to a new bill pay contract with a new phone with them?

Best bargain alert ever. Ive had enough of their awful signal, despite promises of an upgrade yet getting Edge right beside their shops, pathetic service.

I agree. Have complained since day 1. Even though their coverage map says I get 4G indoors, and I do get a 4G signal, 4G signal doesn't mean 4G speeds. I've waited over a year for their rollout of faster speeds, but I guess it's not happening.

    Also, just to confirm I was given the same number to cancel: 1800 818 021. Opening Hours Mon-Fri 8.30am - 8.30 pm, Sat 9am - 8pm, Sun 10am - 5pm.

Hi....just came across this thread! Thanks OP.
Just wonder if you all have been informed of the price hike in your bill or did you just come across it on the website?

I'm paying €55 a month - so don't fancy it being upped to €60 - i was tempted by the lure of a shiny new phone!!!!

    Hi,
I have three phones on the €40.66 plan. Can I just ring them and switch to the SIM only plan without any break in service or having to change numbers? Don't want the hassle of having to give bank details again etc.
Would be great if I can.

I was telling a friend about this. Her daughter is on same bill as her, under a different account number and signed up for a new contract a few days ago.

Does the 14 day cooling off period work both ways? I'm guessing no, but just looking for clarification.

    Thanks.

Apropos, I checked Meteor, depending on your deal they are presently looking for money per day for roaming. However, the person on the interactive support line said I could continue on present deal after 15 June, no roaming extras. Hope she is right. Everyone needs to keep an eye on their deal leading up to June 15.

Even if the cooling off period is 14 days I think you had 30 days from February 24th to complain. So you can definitely try wait it out.

Thanks for posting this thread OP. Meteor did something similar a few years ago and I canceled my contract with them 1 month after signing up to a 12 month contract, it saved me a small fortune by switching to PAYG and I got free phone out of it too. I'm currently 5 months into an 18 month with a Huawei P9 so I'll be cancelling that contract today.

I am on the plan 5. My price is not increasing but I am losing roaming ( I dont use it anyway).

Can I cancel on this basis ?

Edit - Just off the phone. Was able to cancel broadband even though price was not changing.

My contract is up in June, rang regardless to cancel after 2 long years trying to get out. Basically they told me my plan is not affected by the price increase. Must be only people who have taken out contracts in the past 12 months? Has everybody received direct correspondence about this?

    I just called 1800 818021

Im on the Unlimited Flex Max plan at €55 a month which is going up to €60 a month and im 8 months into a 24 month contract and got a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

    They gave me 2 options

    1. Continue with the €60 a month from April

    2. Change to a 30 day rolling contract at €30 a month which I can cancel at any time with no lump sum payments.

I took option 2 as you would have predicted.

They were very nice on the phone so a thumbs up

No, I have not received any correspondence about it and I signed up in October. Haven't phoned them yet to see if I can or not, thought I'd let the phone lines cool off first.

Edit, what contract are you on?

European Commission released a statement saying that these 'loopholes' won't work so cancel before 3 change their mind.

Apparently I am on an old O2 plan so not affected for now. Called the 1800 just now & they told me that the increase to O2 plan usually 1 month after three

    Check your My 3 account

In my old contract of €55 a month I would have another 16 month left

Now it shows im out of contract and also I can upgrade again.
